The opportunity
We are looking for a Financial Modelling Consultant or Senior Consultantto join ourValuation, Modelling & Economics team in our Canberra office.

As a Modeller in the Valuation, Modelling and Economics team in Canberra, you’ll play a key role with our government clients, providing high quality financial and strategic analysis through the development of models in relation to clients’ issues, projects and new strategic initiatives. Throughout all projects, you will leverage your understanding of quantitative analysis to provide value-adding insights to support decision making and solve a broad range of public policy and commercial issues.
Your key responsibilities
In this role, you’ll have a primary focus on providing insightful modelling and analysis. You’ll spend your time working with team members to deliver and review a wide range of engagements including financial modelling, workforce and operational modelling, decision support and transaction analytics, scenario analysis, options analysis and business case development. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop and share sector specific expertise in a number of industry sectors aligned with your experience and interests, such as vaccine supply chain and pricing, and cost recovery for government programs.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have
· Financial Modelling - strong numerical and analytic skills including intermediate to advanced level of MS Excel and modelling skills
· Sound knowledge of financial and accounting concepts
· A keen interest in understanding and solving problems
· Project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines on multiple client engagements
· General corporate finance and consulting skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Excellent writing skills to distil complex ideas into easy to understand reports
· Australian Citizenship
· A Baseline security clearance or an ability to obtain a security clearance
Ideally, you’ll also have
· A degree qualification in a related discipline such as Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics and Economics
· 2-4 years’ of relevant experience (this may include another modelling team or consulting, accounting, economics and government environment)
