Assurance Advisor, Banking and Capital Markets (Financial Services Office) (Manager) (Multiple Positions) , Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, New York, NY.
Provide audit advisory services, demonstrating to banking and capital markets clients that there is real value in the audit process, above and beyond the regulatory mandate. Plan and perform audit procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAS, including PCAOB rules and regulations, for private and public company financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Apply knowledge of SEC rules and regulations over financial reporting. Identify accounting and auditing issues on a timely basis. Provide accounting insights to clients in a clear and concise manner, including insights into complex accounting issues such as revenue recognition, share-based compensation, business combinations and internal controls. Focus on clients in the banking/capital markets industry groups which may include retail, commercial, or investment banks, broker/dealers, or similar institutions.
Manage and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.
Full time employment, Monday– Friday,40-45 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field, plus 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field, plus 4 years of related work experience.
Must have 2 years of experience in supervising audit teams consisting of two or more staff members.
Must have 2 years of experience in engagement management, engagement execution and reporting, and client relationship building while serving clients in the banking/capital markets industry. These clients may include retail, commercial or investment banks, brokers/dealers, or similar institutions.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in at least 1 of the following:
- Supervising the planning, execution, reporting on audits of financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAS and U.S. GAAP, or foreign equivalent (International Accounting Standards (IAS));
- Recent audit experience with a public accounting firm that is registered with PCAOB, working with large multinational clients;
- Public company SEC rules, regulations, financial reporting, and PCAOB standards;
- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Must have valid US certified public accountant (CPA) license in the US state for primary work location OR a foreign equivalent license.
Must have 1 year of experience in the use of audit documentation software.
Travel required up to 50%.
