Job Summary:

Looking for a talented and driven senior analyst who can partner with EY’s business stakeholders to deliver high impact analyses and insight as part of the Digital & Innovation domain. The Domain focuses on technology-driven disruption topics and initiatives that are priorities for the firm including emerging technologies, strategic alliances with technology partners, digital transformation and cross-industry trends and topics. The business priorities will be supported by deliverables, including thought leadership and globally relevant points of view, analysis to drive strategic decisions and support geographies, market segments and priority accounts and pursuits. Some of these products or services, such as those for certain accounts or pursuits, may be delivered on a fee for service basis, if agreed upon in advance.

The role requires a combination of analytical skills and a strategic mindset with real-world perspective driven by an understanding of both clients’ experiences and broader marketplace drivers. A collaborative mindset is also crucial, as Analysts have a key role to play in supporting networks within their domain, sharing information across sectors, service lines, accounts and solutions, and using that information to further strengthen the quality of materials produced.

The Analyst will frequently work closely with knowledge specialists in other domains (e.g. in another sector, service line or geography), the Domain Knowledge Leader, senior Domain Analyst and Knowledge Managers, to support the domain’s leadership and other senior stakeholders, providing impactful research, analysis and insight to help EY differentiate itself in the marketplace. Given that the individual will be considered as a domain expert, they will need to proactively consider opportunities to engage with other domains around issues of common interest and participate in cross-domain initiatives. Additionally, they will help to ensure quality and delivery of outputs by knowledge team members located throughout the world to support the specific domain’s initiatives.

Finally, given the dynamic nature of technology and the market and the need to operate as we advise our clients to– this role requires someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit, an agile mindset and sees ambiguity as an opportunity to influence where things go not cause for concern.

Essential Functions of the Job:

·  Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to execute projects resulting in business-relevant insights on a variety of topics. Research projects will help identify and test key trends and understand how existing trends will evolve or new trends will emerge.
·  Select the optimal analytical approach to meet project objective and deliver differentiated insights that go beyond the obvious
·  Use data to create compelling storylines and communicate them succinctly through data visualizations, PPTs, and dashboards
·  Rapidly develop an understanding of new project topics and their business/ market context to inform analysis, interpretation and deliver of insights
·  Collaborate with their team, stakeholders and EY Knowledge colleagues to execute analysis, leverage subject matter expertise, identify additional data and tools to enhance output, adopt and share best practices, and deliver high quality insights.
·  Work in a flexible and agile manner, adjusting the depth or focus of analysis to align with the requirements of customers and projects.
·  Leverage EY’s proprietary insights and global network of colleagues to improve and enhance the quality of insights delivered, including interacting with account teams, sector and service line colleagues, domain subject matter experts, Knowledge teams, clients and external networks.
·  Support collection of data from pursuits, engagements and proprietary research to enhance the depth of benchmarking data available to support solution development and the creation of proprietary insights for internal stakeholders and EY clients.
·  Provide research, analysis and insight support to major pursuits including working with other EY Knowledge and Global Markets teams to deliver relevant analysis on market sizing, market share and market performance.
·  Share insights and perspectives that support business development activities and service delivery to clients in collaboration with domain teams
·  Clearly and concisely communicate (both in writing and orally) analytic approaches, novel insights and distinctive points of view on research topics
·  Proactive approach to identifying materials, credentials and other information, particularly from key engagements, that are relevant within and across domains, and sharing that information in appropriate formats with teams and communities (e.g. accounts, solutions, sub-service lines).
·  Identify cross-sector POV sharing & seeking opportunities to collaborate with other domain teams on issues that cut across EY’s business activities.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

·  Analyzes and interprets results of complex, global, internally executed research projects. Ability to synthesize and analyze information coherently and succinctly. Able to bring together a variety of perspectives and sources to deliver impactful analysis to support business priorities.
·  Provide clear analytical insight and understanding of the specific domain, with responsibility for the execution of initiatives based on a sound analysis of the domain’s dynamics and drivers.
·  Ability to use both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies, including financial analysis skills, to synthesize information, review data inputs and provide analytic insights
·  Support engagement and co-creation with domain stakeholders and internal customers. Provide a big-picture perspective and prepare an impactful analysis on issues, challenges and opportunities, beyond publicly available information
·  Actively collaborate and cultivate individual relationships with priority business teams, domain customers and EY Knowledge colleagues to deliver research, analysis and insights that support business development activities and service delivery to clients.
·  Quality control insights and outputs to ensure accuracy, integrity, and application of best practices in data handling and analysis
·  Adept at using analytical methodologies and capable at coaching less-experienced team members to improve their skills in research, analysis, data analytics and visualization

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

·  Credible experience in an analytical or strategy-oriented environment
·  Familiar working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment, consulting/professional services firm
·  Able to work independently as well as part of a team
·  Big picture thinking is critical for this role
·  Succinct and structured oral and written communications skills with proven ability to explain complex concepts in a crisp, clear, concise and graphic-rich style, using appropriate analytics and visualization tools.
·  Consultative mindset and integrated teaming approach to service delivery
·  Ability to take ownership for delivering customized projects with a high degree of autonomy; adept at managing several projects simultaneously.
·  Understanding of the business and demonstrated commercial acumen using commercial language that presents knowledge activities in the context of business objectives
·  Professional, confident, credible and an enthusiastic team player who can work effectively across functional teams and domains
·  Strong project management skills and experience in leading complex programs and projects to achieve milestones and objectives
·  Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
·  Flexibility in working hours to accommodate multiple time zones as needed
·  Comfortable working virtually across service lines and geographies
·  Experience employing other quantitative & qualitative techniques for primary and secondary research. Examples could include analysing numerical data sets (e.g. financial performance data), developing or conducting benchmarking exercises, conducting interviews, or analysing news articles to identify insights (e.g. key trends) or create structured data (e.g. a database of articles tagged with a taxonomy).
·  Experience with relevant software for data analysis and visualization such as Alteryx or Power BI desirable, but not required
·  Ability to surface the insight that aren't immediately obvious when looking at an issue / market to identify emerging trends
