Job description

The Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join UK&I Talent Development within the Apprenticeship team, where you will support the delivery of EY’s Apprenticeship programmes. This will include being responsible for day to day programme delivery, Apprentice progression and ongoing student wellbeing and pastoral care support.

  

Your Key Responsibilities:

Pastoral Care

·  Coach apprentices throughout the apprenticeship programme and provide additional support to apprentices that have fallen off-track
·  Support the pastoral care provision for Apprentices through 1:1 discussion, focus groups, programme briefings, and deal with escalated queries and concerns
·  Host coaching and learning support sessions with Apprentices to monitor learner progression and provide continual support whilst on programme
·  Provide guidance and advice to apprentices who declare a disability or support need, ensuring that they receive the required adjustments and ongoing oversight
·  Monitor the wellbeing and mental health of apprentices, providing appropriate support and escalating concerns where necessary
·  Elicit feedback to understand the apprentice journey and experience through the programme.
·  Support the delivery of, and compliance with, policies, procedures, training and documentation to ensure effective demonstration of EY's Apprentice support model, for both internal and external audit purposes
·  Complete ongoing learning related to coaching, mentoring and learning support whilst in role

Programme Management

·  Responsible for the day to day delivery and continuous improvement of EY’s Apprenticeship programmes and the Apprentice support model
·  Connect with Counsellors to ensure they understand the requirements of the apprenticeship. It is critical that Counsellors are well equipped to support apprentices as they develop the knowledge skills and behaviours throughout the programme  
·  Management of apprentice records within the Student Database which is used to track progression towards the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the Apprenticeship Standard
·  Monitor and report on Apprentice progression and 20% off-the-job learning requirement in relation to the knowledge, skills and behaviours listed within the Apprenticeship standard  
·  Use data and information available to critically evaluate programme delivery to support EY’s self-assessment and quality improvement planning
·  Use systems effectively so that quality data is maintained with integrity. Learning records should be maintained consistently to ensure accurate reporting
·  Management of Apprentice and Counsellor communications to ensure information is available in the right depth, and at the right time, for all parties, using SharePoint and other communication resources
·  Work in partnership with Talent functions, and the broader Talent Development team, to support the delivery of programmes and bring together all aspects of an Apprentice’s learning journey
·  Involvement in ongoing team projects to inform quality programme development and respond to identified improvements
·  Adopt a ‘champion’ role for aspects of Apprenticeship delivery within your peer group, such as Safeguarding, English & Maths requirements etc.
·  Develop a detailed understanding of the business, the SLs and the roles that apprentices play within them

Team Contribution

·  Maintain CPD compliance to ensure knowledge and understanding of apprenticeship requirements are up to date as well as ongoing experience in coaching and learner support
·  Regular involvement in meetings, workshops and focus groups to share knowledge and best practice with wider team and relevant audiences
·  Contribute to talent wide initiatives as required
·  Support new joiners to the team, acting as a buddy
·  Build a strong profile and network internally

To qualify for the role, you must have

·  Significant coaching experience, ideally working with individuals in the early stage of their career
·  An enthusiastic, can do approach
·  Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with apprentices and counsellors
·  Strong organisation skills with an attention to detail, an ability to deliver to deadlines and to prioritise effectively
·  A desire to work in a challenging and new environment and comfortable working with an element of ambiguity
·  A focus on quality and improvement to meet regulatory requirements
·  A desire to seize opportunities to build knowledge (e.g., researching, internal networks, role specific webinars and events)

 Ideally, you’ll also have

·  A basic understanding of apprenticeships within the UK and the governments apprenticeship strategy and reforms
·  A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and implementing process improvements and demonstrating best practice
·  Experience of supporting learners from diverse backgrounds and varying support needs
