EY Oceania is launching new roles, one of which is the Account Financial Advisor (AFA).
TheAFA will be part of anextended account team, focused on promoting sound financial management and at the forefront of finance and business policies, tools and best practices to effectively support Client Servers (CS).
This is a high-profile role working with account leadership to promote best practice financial management for a key EY account. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will help navigate the business through the complexities of managing large and complex engagements, while promoting operational excellence across the account. Your Key Responsibilities:
The Account Financial Advisor (AFA) is a finance professional with robust knowledge and experience.
The AFA will be aligned to a key client account to promote optimal financial management procedures, while providing technical advice and support on complex pursuits and engagements.
A successful AFA will demonstrate and utilise financial, commercial and consulting skills. The AFAprovides advice tailored to the client serving teams that optimises precision and efficiency at a pursuit, engagement and portfolio level where these are complex in nature and material, including:
· Team closely with Account Leaders and Engagement Managers to document and implement best practice financial management protocols across the account
· Financial analysis related to engagement metrics and drivers (including margin analysis and resource/inventory management)
· Providing advice to the Engagement Partner and Client Servers (CS) at the pursuit and engagement stages. The AFA is skilled at:
· advising on commercial outcomes,
· modelling budgets,
· analysing drivers of variance on complex engagements,
· review of leverage models of staffing mix,
· advising on optimal engagement architecture,
· portfolio-level reporting and financial analysis,
· review of pricing plans – including rate cards, fixed charge, and margin-based fees,
· Help the team to evaluate/analyse the margin impact of key commercial decisions and scope changes
· Attends regular meetings with Partners and Engagement Managers to advise on commercial performance
· Proactively link with the account team, Business Development (BD) and Markets teams regarding account strategies and pipeline.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
· Ability to support key decision making by synthesising large data sets and translating that into commercial terms
· Ability to design and document end-to-end operational protocols for stakeholders at all levels of seniority
· Drafting technical documentation and designing tools to assist client servers in optimising financial management practices
· Acting as a trusted business advisor including providing a clear and insightful point of view, demonstrating forward and flexible thinking and challenging business assumptions
· Proactively developing networks and demonstrate understanding of the organizational landscape in which our client serving teams operate
· Demonstrated experience advising on financial performance and impact / benefit of key commercial decisions
To qualify for the role you must have:
· Strong financial acumen and the ability to understand commercial drivers of engagement performance
· Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, including intermediate to advanced excel
· Demonstrated ability to design, document and implement operational protocols
· Exceptional written and oral presentation skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and articulate manner
· Proven ability to build credibility and trust with senior stakeholders
· Proactive approach to work and the ability to anticipate the needs of the business and deliver accordingly
Ideally, you’ll also have
· A minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial Finance role; or
· Experience with using data visualisation tools such as PowerBI and/or advanced Excel skills
· Whilst not essential, experience in pricing, including review of pricing plans, rate cards and discount strategies/buyer behaviours
· While not essential, completion of relevant finance qualifications would also assist in performing this role, including:
· Completion of a four-year University degree (e.g. Bachelor’s degree),
· graduate level education and/or
· professional certification.
