Job description

In EY Tax, you’ll have the opportunity to help the world’s leading multinational organizations meet complex tax obligations around the world. You’ll get a unique glimpse deep inside a company’s business and become a trusted advisor, working collaboratively on a team that influences major business decisions.  Demand has made this a rapidly growing area, and the relationships we build here translate into big business in other areas, making this a true priority.

The opportunity

EY’s multidisciplinary Business Tax Incentives (BTI) team, specializing in tax credits for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED), is seeking a candidate with business development experience to grow our client base in Ontario. We offer an excellent opportunity for talented people to play a key role in EY’s rapidly growing and dynamic incentives practice.

Your key responsibilities

As a Business Development Account Manager, you will play an active role growing EY’s BTI practice. This involves meeting with various C-suite executives from entrepreneurs to public corporations to assess the client's eligibility to receive funding, establishing how much they can claim, and determine any other way EY can support their business needs. As an experienced business development professional, you will be responsible for building relationships with internal service lines, clients, strategic partners, incubators, accelerators, and investors. If you want a challenging opportunity to work with companies and play a significant role in their needs, this role is for you.

Skills and attributes for success
•    Responsible for prospecting new clients and presenting EY’s value proposition.
•    Leverage your broad knowledge of current technologies to determine eligibility for various government grants, tax credits and funding programs.
•    Achieve BTI growth objectives by identifying and effectively presenting service offerings.
•    Work closely with EY’s internal network to cross-sell and identify BTI opportunities.
•    Build relationships and act as a trusted and influential advisor to clients, incubators and accelerators.
•    Attend events and network to build a pipeline of sales pursuits.
•    Manage and strengthen existing client relationships.
•    Strong drive to achieve revenue needed to meet and exceed the annual targets assigned by EY’s leadership team.
•    Liaison with EY’s brand and marketing team to develop and run sales and marketing campaigns.

To qualify for the role you must have
•    Bachelors or Master’s degree in Business Administration, or related discipline.
•    Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Business Development and B2B sales.
•    Experience in selling SR&ED, tax credits and government grants is considered an asset.
•    Experience managing relationships with C-suite executives and senior leaders in a company.
•    Ability to identify, qualify and manage complex sales cycles.
•    Ability to grow a network and support an ecosystem.
•    An MBA would be considered an asset.
•    An understanding of web technologies, cloud computing, programming languages, and telecommunication technologies is desired.
•    Excellent communication skills (outgoing personality, written, verbal, and listening).
•    Strong organizational and time management skills.
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
