Student Internship - Reverse Engineering Support
In the Networked Society there are an ever increasing number of wireless devices, the range reaching far beyond phones, tablets and laptops. Anything that benefits from being connected will be connected.
Being a top player in the wireless business Ericsson has a large number of patents, and the number of devices gaining advantage from Ericsson's Intellectual Property will increase tremendously.
To help protecting its intellectual property, Ericsson has an in-house lab in Lund, Sweden for Reverse Engineering. In this lab we perform teardowns and testing of different devices (today mostly mobile phones) with the purpose of finding evidence of patent infringements.
We are now looking for a person with strong interest in mobile wireless devices and with an insight in how wireless devices work and communicate in the networks. The person should help us doing measurements and tests on wireless devices on an hourly basis.
Experience from hands-on work in a lab and knowledge from handling different measurement instruments is desired, as is a basic understanding of what role patents play.
Being engaged in Reverse Engineering Support at Ericsson you will:
· Help out in developing and validating test methods
· Perform tests according to defined test methods
· Perform teardowns of different wireless devices
· Document results and findings
We are looking for candidates who:
· Have completed the 3rd year of an MSc education
· Preferably have completed or are studying courses in wireless communication techniques
· Have knowledge about mobile handsets and wireless technologies
· Have experience from hands-on lab work
· Are familiar with basic lab equipment for electronic measurement
· Have performed teardowns of electronic equipment either of own interest or professionally
The extent of the employment can be discussed. We believe the range will be somewhere between a few hours up to about 10h per week, varying from week to week. Working hours will be during normal business hours.
