Strategic Sourcing Manager, BNEW GSO Business Services Sourcing
Description of Company and Unit
Business Services Sourcing is a global unit within BNEW and is responsible for sourcing of all materials and services within Facility Management, Real Estate, Marketing & Communication, Travel, HR & Training services and Finance/Law firm/Management/Real Estate Consultants for the Ericsson Group.
Business Services Sourcing currently holds ca. 2.2 BUSD in spend spread across approx. 12.000 suppliers worldwide. The unit is globally responsible for the sourcing activities within these categories and in addition with the continued growth of our services business, such as Managed Services, these categories are also key for our ability to win and deliver on our MS deals.
We lead and manage the areas outlined above where we define the global category strategies, lead global, cross regional and local tenders, lead negotiations and governance with suppliers.
In the Business Services Sourcing organization we aim to strengthen the global reach of category expertise, enable active management of suppliers and categories, improve demand management and serve our stakeholders better and deliver more value to Ericsson.
Job Summary
Through efficient sourcing of products, services and solutions, the Strategic Sourcing Manager shall strengthen Ericsson’s competitive position by maximizing supplier value, proactively managing business risks and contributing to the creation of value for the Customer. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is accountable for evaluating, qualifying and selecting suppliers for the external purchase and licensing of all products and services either to be delivered to Customers as part of or as an Ericsson delivery or for internal use within Ericsson. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for all commercial relationship with suppliers.
As a Sourcing Manager it is your task to identify, select and contract vendors (locally & internationally) against the best possible legal and commercial conditions. You will be responsible for optimal leverage of volumes and minimization of business risks, fully covering the needs of the internal customer(s), following the principles of the Ericsson Business Processes.
You will be part of the BSS MELA Mediterranean & MXOT team. As member of the team you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational sourcing activities for several indirect sourcing category clusters in Sweden. You will work closely together with the global category cluster teams to help build the right strategies and execute on strategy execution activities.
The Position is to be based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Key accountabilities
· Select and approve (local & international) suppliers or partners for the organization, based upon a thorough and documented supplier/partner selection process, in order to secure that the supplier/partner selection is in accordance with the local and/or the overall Ericsson Sourcing strategy.
· Commercially end-to-end responsible to negotiate and agree the best possible pricing and conditions with the suppliers and embed these in a mutually signed contract, within the corporate and local Ericsson authorization scheme, procurement rules and ethics; authorized to make autonomous commitments and sign purchase order on behalf of Ericsson, in order to achieve lowest possible TCO for Ericsson.
· Manage, develop and maintain a relationship with suppliers/partners and internal customers (on all organizational levels) that will deliver mutual benefits and enable achievement of the sourcing strategy, based on a mutually agreed contract, in order to achieve a satisfying and cost effective supplier/customer relationship.
· Obtain and maintain an in-depth understanding of the category both internally and externally (i.e. demand analysis, spend analysis, supplier analysis, analysis of cost and performance drivers, total cost analysis), in international category teams, to establish volume consolidation and better pricing, in order to fulfill the (internal) customer requirements.
· Responsible for the commercial (partner) management of 3rd party suppliers including transferring, implementing and managing the established contracts with the suppliers/partners, within the directives, rules and guidelines of the organization and the details agreed in the contract, in order to bring the best possible benefit from the contract to the organization and take the appropriate actions in order to ensure the right contracts for the future.
· Contribute in improving and development of operational, tactical and strategic sourcing and sourcing processes, within the directives, rules and guidelines of the organization and the tools available for those processes, in order to achieve the most cost effective procurement and purchasing process for the organization, leading to both purchasing and operational excellence.
Following are typical activities:
· Cooperate proactively with internal customers to capture sourcing needs and opportunities in the your assigned geographical area.
· Cooperate with GCTs and provide local input to Category Sourcing Strategies and Category Sourcing Guidelines
· Drive KPI fulfillment to ensure that Ericsson has better terms, conditions and prices than our competitors
· Identify sourcing opportunities, document in the Opportunity List and coordinate prioritization with GCTs
· Define and execute sourcing events with efficient RFx management to realize local opportunities in accordance with Category Sourcing Guidelines
· Leverage negotiated frame agreements and capture call-off negotiation opportunities
· Drive local sourcing intelligence, including market knowledge, and proactively share with internal customers and GCTs
· Manage relationships with appropriate suppliers to continuously fulfill business needs
· Work towards agreed savings targets (a.o. reductions, avoidance, negotiation results and efficiency/administrative savings).
