This position is located in Ottawa.
Ottawa is looking for several interns to fill various software developer internships for summer 2017.
Our software designers contribute to all aspects of the software development cycle, including analysis, design, coding, manual and automated testing, integration, and maintenance. They also work hands-on with the equipment in the lab.
If you are selected for this position, you will work in an Agile environment as part of a cross-functional systems, hardware and software team combining efforts to deliver world class cellular products.
Work tasks will include some of the following (depending on the specific job position):
· Developing automated test tools capabilities
· Developing automated LTE test cases
· Developing and supporting software build and integration tools
· Trouble shooting and helping to resolve issues with the test environment
· Assisting in the investigation of issues uncovered during testing
· Lab equipment configuration and set-up
· Generating test data for design validation
· Reviewing software designs and test plans
· Developing tools to support software development
· Working with the team, and on your own, to perform software/hardware integration testing in the lab
· Performing hands-on nodal verification of the delivered functionality
· Reviewing software designs and test plans
· Reporting on test results
Qualifications for these roles:
· Academic background: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
· Entering coop term 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6
· Interpersonal skills: Independent, self-starter, team player who is organized, detail oriented and able to work in a team oriented dynamic environment
· Flexible and able to multi-task
· Technical requirements: Software development and debugging skills; LTE protocols or wireless knowledge beneficial; knowledge of concurrent programming languages, scripting, Perl, Java, C/C++, Python, Ruby, and Erlang are an asset.
· Academic background: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
· Entering coop term 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6
· Effective English oral and written communications skills.
If you are not strong in some of these skills at the beginning of your co-op term you will definitely have gained experience in many of them by the end of it!
