Ericsson Montreal is part of a CoE (Center of Excellence) for Media Delivery which has a key mandate within Business Unit Media to build, maintain, and evolve our MDN (Media Delivery Network) product, whichaddresses the CDN (Content Delivery Network) arena, and comprises of the Management, Control, and Delivery Nodes. This is a key growth area within the Ericsson portfolio.

The development activities include designing, coding, unit and feature testing particular facets of the software and bug corrections. The creation of automated test cases is also part of regular agile team activities.

Position Qualifications

CORE COMPETENCE:

• Highly Developed knowledge and skills in C/C++, Java and OOD.

• Highly Developed knowledge and skills in Linux/Unix.

• Highly Developed knowledge IP Networking, and protocols (ICAP, TCP, UDP, WSP, HTTP, SSL, RTSP, RTP, RTCP, SNMP, LDAP).

• Highly Developed knowledge in automated deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef

• Highly developed troubleshooting skills.

• High ability to learn and understand new products, processes, methods and tools.

• Highly Developed Communication skills and customer interactions.

• Strong interest and passionate about traffic optimization and associated technologies

• Good Developed knowledge in mobile traffic mix identification, selection and impact on system performance

• Good Developed knowledge and skills in Java Script.

• Good Developed knowledge in Postgres.

• Real team player, individual drive, autonomy, 'Walks the extra mile' behaviour.

• Ability to travel on occasion

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCE:

In addition to those skills, we are looking for candidates with specific competences in the following areas:

A) Video Optimization

• Good knowledge in bandwidth optimization technologies such as media content adaptation and pacing

• Good knowledge in video codecs, file (H.263, MPEG4, H.264, VP6, 3GP, F4V, MP4, FLV)

• Good knowledge in the different media delivery mechanisms associated with mobile phone types such as Android and Iphone

B) Caching, Content Delivery and Media Aware Networking

• Highly Developed knowledge in Transparent Internet Caching, intelligent clustering and hybrid storage

• Highly Developed knowledge in cache eviction policies, cache prediction

• Highly Developed knowledge in the Content Delivery discipline

C) Software Defined Networking / Network Functions Virtualization / Cloud

• Highly Developed knowledge in virtualization, cloud deployments, performance aspects of virtualized solution versus standard type of deployments.

• Highly Developed knowledge in OpenStack, VMWare, KVM, esxi

D) Data analytics

• Highly Developed knowledge in Data record standards, models for Big Data analysis

• Highly Developed knowledge in Analytics methods, appropriate data selection to be captured, processed and reported.

Impact on system performance for implementing data collection.

E) End to End IP expertise

• Highly Developed knowledge in TCP/IP traffic end to end, TCP/IP in practice and theory, F5 Load Balancers, Firewalls, tcpdump & Wireshark tools

• Highly Developed knowledge in fine tuning the TCP/IP protocols and their respective tuning parameters

• Highly Developed knowledge in Quality of Service Technologies

• Highly Developed knowledge in Throttling, Deep Packet Inspection, Smart Pipe

• Highly Developed knowledge in network congestion, network inspection tools, OS kernel parameters impacting the overall network bandwidth
