Master Thesis internships on cloud native hardware acceleration and analytics at Ericsson Development Unit Networks, 4G5G RAN Incubator
The telecommunications field is transitioning towards virtualized platforms and Ericsson is leading this transformation. The Radio Access Networks Incubator, within the Product Development Group (PDG) 4G&5G, is a new unit where we make brilliant new ideas grow into products. We are responsible for novel designing Radio Access Virtual Network Functions on a server / cloud infrastructure as a well as driving management and orchestration open source contributions into the 5G future.
What you'll do:
· Explore novel ways of taking advantage state of the art hardware acceleration techniques to increase the processing capacity of cloudified RAN functions
· Utilize modern machine learning and AI technology to automate data processing and analysis at the edge of the telecom cloud
· Work with state-of-the-art service and network orchestration as well as data processing frameworks, technologies, and platforms

You currently registered as a student at a university in Sweden and about to have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent discipline. We assume that you can speak and write in fluent English.
Here are some examples of technologies that you will work with:
- Programming languages: Python, Go
- Cloud platforms: Docker and Kubernetes
- Data engineering: Kafka, Kafka Streams, Flink, Beam, ZeroMQ
- Deep Learning frameworks: TensorFlow
- Mathematical modelling and analytics
- Databases such as Hadoop (CASK), Cassandra, InfluxDB or PostgreSQL
- Modelling languages such as YANG and TOSCA
- Tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
