The Role
The main focus of the role will be in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with Ericsson customers in the UK in challenging circumstances and timeframes, including providing legal advice and support to Ericsson’s UK Key Account Manager business on a variety of legal matters in a fast-paced commercial environment.
The role will also be expected to support on sourcing and other legal matters and be able to work autonomously together with the other regional legal team members, where appropriate. The person will need to demonstrate a dynamic ‘can do’ attitude, integrity and experience of negotiating with customers and suppliers and have strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate an ability to support the company’s KAMs independently.
The role requires a broad range of legal competence required by a large multinational in the telecoms and ICT sector. The Group Legal Counsel will be located in Guildford, UK but will be expected to travel on occasions to Europe for RWCE, Group and other meetings. This role may be required to travel to any of the company’s UK sites from time to time in the course of carrying out their duties.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified lawyer with at least 4 years PQE in contract and commercial law, in-house or in private practice, within the ICT/Telecommunication industry.
The Group Legal Counsel will be part of the regional legal team and be expected to deal with a wide scope of legal and contractual responsibility. Reporting, together with another lawyer, into the Lead Legal Counsel - UK, this role would suit a strong commercial and transactional lawyer with relevant contract experience in the ICT/Telecommunication industry.
