Position Summary

Our unit is responsible to integrate and verify new features introduced within the UDM product but also to secure the integrity and performance of the end to end solution (HSS, HLR, CUDB, PG nodes).

The group is also involved in developing new tools and test automation suites and is undertaking a number of internal improvement initiatives.

The internship includes the following activities, but is not restricted to them:

· You may be responsible to develop tools (prototype, then official version) needed by the testers to do their day-to-day activities. The development will be based on their initial ideas/concepts.
· You may be responsible to ensure that the tools developed are easy to use and easy to maintain (programming language, etc.)
· You may be responsible to maintain the tool, and do improvement as required
· You may be responsible to produce a user guide (if required) to explain how the tool works, configuration need, etc.
· You may be responsible to do presentations (if required) to the group regarding the tool, etc.
· You may be responsible to participate in the test framework development (including automation of test execution and analysis)
· You may be requested to participate in the Integration and Verification test activities
· You may be requested to work on standalone project related to the introduction of new tools

The main tasks will consist of:

· Support the different test teams, if applicable
· Collect the “conceptual ideas / requirements”
· Develop tools/test cases including prototype and related documentations based on the requirements received
· Test and verify the tools/test cases developed and secure good quality
· Create relevant documentation to support the developed tools/test cases
· Create user guide, etc.
· Present the tools/test cases to the group.

Requirements

· University program in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering (3rd or 4th year student preferred but open to other years).
· Good communication skills (written and spoken) in English
· Team work, positive attitude and likes to learn new thing
· Interest and good knowledge in programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, etc.).
· Interest and good knowledge in scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Bash, etc.)

The following skills are assets (nice to have, but not mandatory)

· Technical ability to think through a concept and carrying it through to a prototype/tool.
· Knowledge of Linux would be an asset
· Knowledge of Expect would an asset
· Knowledge of Unix operating systems (Solaris, SUSE linux enterprise 10, RedHat Linux 4) would be an asset
· Knowledge of Veritas Cluster file system management would be an asset
· Knowledge of TCP/IP networking would be an asset
· Knowledge of lean & agile methodologies
