Job Summary:
We are now looking for Field Services Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination, management and execution of Field Service activities supporting other Service Function (SF) in Operations and Engineering. When in site activities need to be performed, you will work ensure that services provided to customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for installation/removal, management and limited commissioning of network projects in wireline and wireless switch rooms, regen, and PoP site environments across the region while adhering to strict quality and industry standards with little or no supervision.
· Complete all activities associated with physically placing equipment identified in project specification documents including but not limited to routing, lacing, labeling, terminating and local / remote testing and turn up of Ethernet, switch board, fiber, and power cables.
· Analyze and resolve network issues associated with equipment installations / removals.
· Perform and assist card level troubleshooting and replacement procedures with assistance from control centers and/or back office engineers.
· Interpret and follow detailed method of procedures (MOPS) and engineering documents / diagrams.
· Review project specifications to validate equipment placement, cable assignments and determine cable lengths then document results in proprietary databases such as Engineering Tool Suite (ETS).
· Provide timely and accurate feedback to site survey requests.
· Understand and follow all common and industry specific safety standards to protect personnel and assure network integrity / reliability.
· Communicate as required with multiple departments to optimize project scheduling, resolve roadblocks, and coordinate material deliveries.
· Inventory, receive, and ship materials using appropriate databases.
· Document project milestones, notes, job information memorandum, and submit ready for service notifications in ETS to gain Operations acceptance for all completed projects.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Prior experience working as a Field Technician or Field Engineer in the Telecommunications Industry is highly desired
· In-depth knowledge of wireline/wireless equipment installation and basic testing methods and procedures (MOPs).
· Knowledge of operating principles of wireline, wireless and RF environments
· Ability to interpret and perform tasks outlined in MOPs, vendor documentation, technical specifications, network practices, engineering letters and job aids.
· Knowledge of telephony networks, include DS1, DS3, OC, and various IP networks
· Ability to identify all colors associated with telecommunications cable and equipment indicator lights.
· Dexterity to connect and disconnect various sizes and types of electronic connectors.
· Ability to work in overhead rack or grid for extended periods of time pulling long lengths of heavy cables
· Must be able to travel outside home market up to 50% of the time; however, based on business requirements this duration could be extended beyond 50%
· Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (i.e., shift work), to include nights and weekends, when needed
· Ability to work in remote and challenging locations including, but not limited to: rooftops, confined spaces, and all types of geographic locations
· Ability to clearly identify specific color schemes
· Ability to drive long distances on and off road
· Must be willing to serve in an on-call rotation
· Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently without continuous supervision
· Must be a team player and have excellent interpersonal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and administrative skills
· Effective written and oral communication skills in English language for safety reasons
· Ability to exercise flexibility in challenging and/or perplexing situations
· Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environments
· Understanding of basic mechanical terms and tools
· The ability to use hand tools, power tools and industry test equipment
· Ability to learn and retain physical and mechanical installation specifications
· Ability to connect and disconnect various sizes and types of electronic connectors
· Must have a high level of computer hardware/software experience with skills and knowledge in Microsoft office product lines, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
· Must have own transportation to get to the job site if required
Physical Requirements:
· Standing, Walking and Climbing for extended periods of time
· Repetitive Movements for extended periods of time
· Push / Pull materials and equipment for extended periods of time
· Lift / Carry materials that are an average weight of (35) pounds, up to (70) pounds (6) to (8) Hours Daily
· Readiness to perform these duties in all weather conditions / climates including heat, cold, rain etc.

Background Requirements:
· Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license in order to drive an Ericsson company vehicle.
· Driving records will be checked for the past 5 years and qualified candidates may not have any of the following violations:
· (2) or more moving violations or at-fault accidents within a (12) month period
· (3) or more moving violations or at-fault accidents within a (3) year period
· DWI/DUI for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (or related impaired driving offenses)
· Failure or refusal to submit to a sobriety test
· Reckless driving, racing, and/or attempting to elude a police officer
· Suspension or revocation of license as a result of one or more moving violations
· Vehicular felony
· Driving without a valid license
· Passing a drug test is also required and must be completed within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
· Before employment, successful completion of a 7 Year Criminal Background Check is required. The Criminal Background investigation includes felonies and misdemeanors as well as education and employment verification. A conviction will not necessarily disqualify from employment.
