Job Purpose

This role is responsible for the coordination, management, delivery and execution of Media Services Broadcast Operations, ensuring delivery of Broadcast Services to customers, including proactive and reactive services to meet planned and late delivery content as per customer specifications.

The person in this role will be part of the Content Discovery Picture Desk team in India and will need to meet our clients' advanced broadcast TV and online platforms' image requirements that display images corresponding to the programme information. You will be responsible for researching, sourcing, and archiving images within copyright regulations, as well as manipulating images within image editing tools and adding metadata. You will help maintain the digital image archive by cataloguing and uploading images onto an internal database for effective delivery.
The role also involves liaising with various client contacts, publicity houses and their press-sites in order to gather material to meet the regular image requirements of clients. The Picture Editor would also be required to perform regular quality control checks to maintain consistency and quality of the team's deliverables.

Reporting Lines and Key Relationships

This role reports to a Production Manager within the Picture Desk Content Discovery Operation.

 

Key Accountabilities

· 

· 
·  Researching, sourcing, and manipulating the appropriate images for delivery for the respective channels assigned to you within the given deadlines.
·  To assess images for suitability and accuracy.
·  To manipulate images in Photoshop for size, shape, and quality.
·  To alert the Picture Desk Production Manager of any difficulties or inconsistencies that may arise from such and to suggest ideas for possible alternatives solutions or courses of action.
·  To act as a point of contact for all enquiries related to the sourcing of images and to undertake the maintenance of all records and systems relating to the image collation.
·  To have a working knowledge of databases that researchers use on a daily basis.
·  To have an understanding of international copyright regulations and to know when to seek further advice or clarification on any rights issue.
·  To have awareness and understanding of how to use press and publicity image sites, image databases, and picture libraries.
·  To build and maintain contact lists and to be proactive in contacting and maintaining the relationships with their respective clients and suppliers.
·  To maintain accurate records relating to the image requirements and programming of a wide range of UK and European channels.
·  To appropriately deal with general enquiries in relation to the Picture Desk's activities.
·  To have a good understanding of metadata and use of images within electronic programme guides both for broadcast and online.
·  The ability to build relationships with organisations such as production companies, TV channels, distributors, and broadcasters and deal with them with tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity.
·  To participate fully in all appraisal, training and development, communication, and processes in accordance with the standards and frameworks laid down by Ericsson.
·  To be involved in testing ongoing software developments.
·  Experience of handling confidential information with tact and sensitivity.

Skills - Experience & Knowledge

·  Demonstrable experience, including picture research, image manipulation and maintainingDatabases.

·  Basic Photoshop skills and the ability to manipulate digital images.
·  Knowledge of the different types of digital image formats.

·  Good IT and keyboard skills and experience of working with new technology and equipment.
