Instructions for Audio Description scripting exercise:

Open the media clip on BBC iPlayer for Storyville: Eagle Huntress, which can be found at this address:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0b7jnkm/storyville-eagle-huntress

For the section that starts at 16 minutes 52 seconds and ends at 20 minutes 25 seconds, please write suitable and sympathetic descriptions which you believe will enhance the enjoyment of the programme for someone with a visual impairment, giving your in-cues (when you want the description to begin) and out-cues (when you want the description to finish).

Please note that there are English-language subtitles on screen. You should include these in your script.

For example:

16:52 – 16:56

Aisholpan and her father mount their ponies and ride off.

Your descriptions should end by 20 minutes 25 seconds into the clip.

We will be assessing your submission against the following criteria:

·  A keen visual awareness that demonstrates an understanding of the needs of a visually impaired audience
·  The quality of script in terms of style, grammar and vocabulary
·  A meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

When the exercise is completed

Please label it clearly with your name and address and upload it with your CV.

Make every future a success.
