Job description
Role:
Our client is looking for a Systems Engineer/Installation Engineer who wants to grow, progress and build a career with a team in a fantastic software house,
There is a 50/50 split between office and on-site work with the occasional overnight stay. A car will be provided by the client and will include a fuel card,
They are looking for someone who knows their way around Hardware, predominantly Linux with some Windows SBS as well,
There will also be one day a week dedicated to 2nd and 3rd Line Support work,
The ideal candidate will have experience in a field based role and someone that is used to a Client Facing Environment
Technical Knowledge:
Essential:
- Server Hardware Knowledge
- Networking Skills (Routing & Switching)
- Linux (RedHat, CentOS)
Desirable:
- Windows Server (2003 - 2012)
- Database Systems (PostgreSQL a bonus)
- Networking (VPN, Firewall, NAT - Vyatta/VyOS a bonus)
- Backup Tools (Acronis, Nakivo, BackupEdge)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- On site installation of hardware and software as required
- Ongoing support of existing systems in the field, both remote and on site.
- Liaising with 3rd party suppliers to manage faults as required
- Acting as an escalation point for hardware support calls
