Photonics/Optics Test and Development Engineer

North London/Hertfordshire

Due to increase success and expansion a new position has arisen for a Photonics/Optics Test and Development Engineer to join an innovative hi-tech organisation that provide fibre optic monitoring solutions for a range of different industries. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for leading and implementing product testing on advanced optical sensing instruments in a hi-tech environment. Other responsibilities will include:

- Performing product testing, troubleshooting and performance verification.

- Designing, developing and implementing test stations for the testing of fibre sensing products.

- Creating and maintaining test procedures and documentation.

- Working with the design team to support service and repair.

- Supporting production duties and ensuring continuous improvement and maintenance of test stations.

For this role you will need:

- Ideally a degree in a Physics or engineering related environment.

- Strong practical experience ideally working in a Photonics/Optoelectronics- (fibre optics, optical detectors, semiconductor lasers, optical amplifiers etc).

- Strong fault finding and troubleshooting ability.

- Experience using Labview would be advantageous but not essential.
