Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Traffic Signal Design Engineer to be based in Wath upon Dearne S63 7ER, or Grimsby DN31 1HB. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. On offer is a salary banding of £28000-£40000 per year, dependent upon skills and experience.

The Highways Design Team is part of an established, successful and award winning partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council. The team have secured a number of high profile regeneration and infrastructure projects across the UK, as well as being responsible for delivery of the Local Transport Plan for North East Lincolnshire Council. 


The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:

·  Delivery of traffic signal designs in accordance with current design standards. 
·  Undertaking  configuration and validations for UTC/SCOOT. 
·  Undertaking of traffic signal controller configuration, completing TR2500 forms 
·  Undertaking of FAT and SAT . 
·  Undertaking of MOVA designs, including configuration and validation. 
·  To develop and manage traffic signal projects from clients brief stage through to completion of site works. 
·  To ensure all designs are CDM 2015 compliant 
·  Aid the preparation of tender packages including drawings, bills of quantities, specifications and contractual documentation. 
·  Liaison with clients, stakeholders and as necessary in a positive and professional manner.

Qualifications or Required Experience:  
Essential:-

·  Qualified to HND/C level or equivalent.
·  A track record of working within the traffic signal industry.
·  In depth experience of traffic signal designs and current design standards
·  In depth experience of FAT and SAT
·  In depth experience of   UTC/SCOOT design, operation & configuration 
·  Experience of MOVA designs, including configuration and validation
·  Ability manage and co-ordinate personal workload to achieve project deliverables within the agreed time, quality and financial objectives.
·  Understanding of Health and Safety legislation, experience of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and understanding of legislative aspects of project delivery
·  Hold full driving licence
Desirable:-

·  Familiar with a wide range of ITS technologies, including UTMC, journey time measurement,
·  VMS, CCTV, RTPI.
·  Good skills with MS Excel and Word are essential
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·  Ability to work on own initiative with limited management.
·  A strong team-working ethic is essential.
·  Candidates should have the ability to communicate confidently and clearly, conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties
