ENGIE are recruiting for a Temporary Works Coordinator  to be based at  Salford M50 3BF or Hebburn NE31 2EX. This is a permanent full time time role working 39 hours per week, Monday 8 am - Thursday 4:30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3:30 pm. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

Purpose of the Role:


Supporting the region to ensure that temporary works are effectively planned, designed and implemented. Providing a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) service, as well as undertaking designs and verifying designs produced by others in a timely and efficient manner. Providing expert technical support where required.Reporting to Regional SHEQ Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

·  To act as the TWC as required on construction projects both new build and refurbishment
·  To provide advice and guidance to region on engineering solutions (both permanent and temporary) as required.
·  Work with pre-commencement team including commercial and technical on temporary works identification
·  Produce temporary works schedules
·  Working with third party contractors
·  Preparing design drawings and specifications for temporary works.
·  Where required undertaking design checks on designs prepared by others.
·  Checking and signing off temporary works on site and completing relevant permits as required 
·  Liaising with other departments/teams in the region to provide input on engineering challenges/solutions.
·  Providing engineering advice as required
·  Assisting with the appointment of contractors who will be undertaking temporary works or complex permanent works.

What we are looking for:

·  A relevant civil or structural engineering degree.
·  Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. MICE
·  Experience of designing and checking temporary works e.g. propping, falsework, scaffolding, crane bases etc.
·  Knowledge of the relevant design codes and standards applicable to temporary works.
·  Good understanding of geotechnical issues and design.
·  Experience of using IT solutions for preparing and checking designs
·  Use of Autocad
·  A valid CSCS card
·  Demonstrate up to date CPD Why work for us?
