Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Software Developer (Robotic Process Automation) to be based in North Tyneside Council, Quadrant East, The Silverlink, North Tyneside, NE27 0BY.

 

This is a permanent full time role (working 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9.00am-5.00pm) and on offer will be a salary of £25,000 to £38,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. This role will report into the Senior Project Manager.

 

The main duties and responsibilities are:

 

The role will work within Engie’s  Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Centre of Excellence. This is a fast paced environment requiring ability to react to, and change priorities quickly if required. Whilst a permanent base may be offered this post includes a requirement to travel to other locations to support our business growth plans.

 

There are three levels within the role and holders of level 1 and/or level 2 posts will have the opportunity to develop to higher levels if they meet the qualification/experience criteria, together with performance criteria. Appropriately skilled and experienced candidates may be appointed above level 1.

 

The post holder will be required to:

·  Lead in the planning, design and delivery of RPA developments using an appropriate software package, ensuring that all work is completed in line with Centre of Excellence standards and operating procedures.
·  Maintain our library of objects, reflecting changes in software or business rules with revisions to builds
·  Work collaboratively with other RPA developers, both within the Centre of Excellence and outside
·  Undertake quality assurance checks of the development work of peers
·  Undertake process reviews to identify opportunities to make processes more streamlined and ‘digital ready’ for automation.
·  Promote best practice in the use of project management, software development and business transformation methodologies to clients
·  Provide any other assistance as deemed necessary within the scope of the post.
·  Assist in the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and to identify potential improvements to these
·  Work with SMEs to identify opportunities for the implementation of robotic process automation

Principal Accountabilities:

·  To assist or be responsible for the design and build of assigned robotic automation projects under the direction of Senior Project Manager, to time and quality thresholds.
·  To develop business requirements in line that meet customer expectations
·  To achieve goals through enthusiasm, commitment and support to other team members.
·  To design and develop RPA processes in accordance with Engie’s standard operating procedures and industry best practice. To learn and develop skills in development to ensure that a consistent and replicable approach is employed at all times.
·  To deliver core functions of ENGIE’s RPA Centre of Excellence to SOPs, in particular the packaging of builds and management of the central Control Room.
·  To assist in the quality assurance of other builds and to report to the Senior Project Manager serious breaches of SOPs
·  To support and mentor both junior members of the team and other Engie employees to complete their training and complete RPA builds.
·  To assist and support review of services using Lean Six Sigma methodology, including re-engineering processes to achieve quantifiable cost and efficiency savings and/or to apply those techniques to re-engineer processes to make them ‘digital ready’, removing barriers to automation and ensuring that structured data is available.
·  To undertake a training programme consisting of internal and external training courses in order to improve and increase skills, knowledge and competency relevant to the post.

Level 1

·  A minimum of 4 GCSE (including Maths and English) grades A – C or equivalent.
·  Higher or further education qualification in an ICT related subject and or 1 year of Blue Prism experience
·  Post holder will be required to either hold the Blue Prism RPA Accreditation or to undertake a programme of accredited professional training which will lead to that qualification being achieved within 26 weeks of commencing employment

Candidates progressing from level 1

·  Educational qualifications/experience  as per Level 1 post
·  Minimum 5 builds built and transferred to live environment which were completed to Centre of Excellence standards
·  Proven track record in meeting targets for output milestones and quality standards over a minimum 12 month period
·  Hold Blue Prism accreditation

New Entrant at level 2

·  Educational qualifications as per Level 1 post
·  Minimum 2 years experience in a development environment
·  Hold Blue Prism accreditation or a development qualification of equivalent standing

Candidates progressing from level 2

·  Educational qualifications/experience  as per Level 1 post
·  Minimum 10 builds built and transferred to live environment which were completed to Centre of Excellence standards
·  Proven track record in meeting targets for output milestones and quality standards over a minimum 24 month period
·  Hold Blue Prism Professional accreditation

New Entrant at level 3

·  Educational qualifications as per Level 1 post
·  Minimum 3 years experience in a development environment
·  Hold Blue Prism Professional accreditation or a development qualification of equivalent standing For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
