Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Electrical Shift Engineer to be based in BMW Hams Hall Canton Lane Coleshill North Warwickshire B46 1 GB. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,000 per annum, company vehicle or allowance, and benefits package.


The Working Hours are based on a 40 hour week with Shifts of – Mornings 06:00 to 14:00, Afternoons 14:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday and Nights 20:00 to 06:00 Monday to Thursday.

General Overview:


The role of the Electrical Shift Engineer is to maintain a good working relationship with customer representatives and work in a manner, which ensures that all aspects of the service agreement between Engie and the customer are delivered with the requisite levels of professionalism.
Reporting directly to the Supervisor with responsibility for engineering on a day to day basis including operation and maintenance, including development of the contract.This is a key and critical role within a small team responsible for maintaining the operational and commercial delivery criteria to the Customer

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

·  Managing workloads will be critical to success as will the regular analysis of reactive breakdowns to ensure route causes are identified and eliminated to successfully achieve KPI’s.
·  Working to a high standard of Building Maintenance on site.
·  We require a fully reliable Time Served Electrical Engineer who can work on their own initiative or within a team environment.
·  Produce quality reports of their findings along with estimates and sourcing of parts if required.
·  The role will involve being the face of ENGIE so a smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others is required.
·  To assist in delivering those aspects of the Company Performance Contract as they relate to this site, including satisfying all the requirements of the Company and the contract with the Customer, in line with existing procedures, by:
·  Fulfilling site health, safety and environmental, quality and customer service targets.
·  Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of existing plant and equipment and diagnosing faults as required.
·  Safely and efficiently maintaining (or supervising the maintenance by third party contractors of) existing plant and equipment.
·  Safely and efficiently installing (or supervising the installation by third party contractors of) new plant and equipment.
·  To attend site in response to breakdowns or failures of the equipment outside of normal working hours (on call).
·  To conform to Engie standards, rules and procedures.
·  To carry out scheduled maintenance tasks, repairs and operations of equipment and services in accordance with best practice.
·  To ensure that all third party contractors that are requested to carry out work on site, do so in a safe and professional manner and abide by any company or site specific procedures.
·  To ensure that the Supervisor is kept informed of all aspects of safety performance, plant performance and customers circumstances that may impact upon the safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective operation of the plant and smooth operation of the plant.
·  To be familiar with all Company and site procedures, which affect him/her, assist the supervisor in the completion of all administrative tasks identified by the Engie quality systems or as required by the Customer.
·  To assist in producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
·  To report all incidents and accidents, including near misses.
·  To complete all administrative functions correctly and promptly, including detailed reports, as required.
·  To complete Toolbox Talks and E Learning training as required
·  To be aware of the key targets for the site and, carry out his/her responsibilities in the most cost effective manner.
·  To lead initiatives and carry out other duties and projects as delegated or instructed by the Supervisor. The guide below is not intended to be fully inclusive or exclusive of the duties required:

Qualifications or Required Experience:

·  Apprenticeship, primary trade qualifications and substantial experience within a building services environment plus the following:
·  A recognised industry Electrical qualification will be required and previous experience is essential.
·  AP15 - HV Qualified up to 11KV (Not Essential)
·  IEE 17th Edition (Not Essential)
·  IPAF 3a & 3b
·  Health & Safety Awareness
·  Legionella Awareness
·  Proficient in use of IT software Word/Excel etc.
·  AP12 - LV Qualified (Not Essential)
·  2391 City & Guilds Inspection & Testing (Not Essential).
·  Ability to effectively work under pressure
·  Ability to diagnose faults and recommend appropriate solutions
·  Ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and in writing
·  Ability to operate in a customer focused environment
·  Confident and positive
·  Reliable and Flexible
·  Able to work alone and Supervise a team of Technical operatives
