Job description

Workplace Solutions are recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to be based in Dungeness B Power Station, Dungeness, Romney Marsh TN29 9PX. This is a permanent, full time role working 37.5 hours per week, 08:00 - 16:30 Monday - Friday. On offer is a competitive salary of £32,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

General Overview:

To ensure that the WPS/EDF Energy Contract operates to the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality through being accountable for the delivery of the EDF Energy SHEQ strategy and engagement to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of appropriate EDF Energy SHEQ culture

Principle Objectives:

·  Ensuring that current advisory services are maintained and are available at all times on matters affecting the health and safety of all ENGIE personnel at their place of work.
·  Advising Management on all HS&E occupational health and welfare matters, and keep them appraised on the success or otherwise of the measures, and advising management of possible alternative arrangements.
·  Auditing places of work, focusing on provision of safe systems of work, safe places of work and attitudes towards HS&E.  Issue formal reports, recommending corrective action.
·  Actively promote improvements in attitudes towards health and safety ensuring the provision of a HS&E induction for personnel at all levels covering accident prevention techniques and hazard awareness.
·  Ensuring that personnel are regularly and properly informed by maintaining a co-ordinated system of HS&E publicity, promotions and adequate level of training.
·  Ensuring that personnel at all levels are properly updated on new and revised HS&E legislation.
·  Carrying out investigations into all accidents/incidents, fires and dangerous occurrences, and issuing reports detailing causes and recommended action. Ensure that Accident/Incident database (CID) is updated on a regular basis and that actions are closed in a timely manner.
·  Liaising with management on the notification of accidents and dangerous occurrences, and the reporting/recording of these incidents.
·  Attend functional team meetings and HS&E Meetings as required. Key Responsibilities:

·  The reporting of the monthly SHEQ data.
·  Co-ordinating the development of site and Outage SHEQ Plans.
·  Co-ordinating the delivery of Zero Harm plans.
·  Effective implementation of SHEQ policy and procedures, and delivery of SHEQ standards on your respective site.
·  Develop and implement the SHEQ culture across the Site WPS staff.
·  Assist in the development of SHEQ policy and procedures.
·  Issue formal reports, recommending corrective action on the outcome of inspections and audits.
·  Ensure that any best practice is communicated to the Regional SHEQ team.
·  Ensure that all staff are within the requirements of Health & Safety Level 1.
·  Support Line Management in issuing accident reports including remedial actions.
·  Ensure that incident database is kept up to date at all times.
·  Completion of the Site SHEQ monthly report in the required timeline.
·  Completion and Displaying of the Site Near Miss Trending and Tracker form in the required timeline.
·  Completion of agreed WPS Contract audit schedule.
·  Ensure that all the Site corrective actions are closed within the required timeline.
·  Promote and support Site teams on Zero Harm approach
·  Compliance Monitoring
·  Clearly understands the standards set in the various management systems for HS&E.
·  Carries out regular site monitoring of operations to ensure standards and legislative requirements are met.
·  Demonstrates a good knowledge of H&S, including CDM and Environmental legislation.
·  Monitor and reports all incidents using ENGIE systems.
·  Investigates all incidents reported through ENGIE Incident Database (CID) system.
·  Clearly understands the standards set in the various ISO accreditations
·  Carries out regular site monitoring of operations to ensure standards and legislative requirements are met
·  Demonstrates a good knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation.
·  Monitor and reports all incidents using both WPS systems and EDF Energy procedures Key Attributes: 

·  The individual will play a vital role to ENGIE, working alongside an already established SHEQ team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.
·  Identifying gaps in legal, company and client system compliance and helping the site team to close those gaps.
·  Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a focused team, can do attitude, good communicator and proactive
·  We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to both the site ops and the wider SHEQ Team. They will be able to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements, and will establish good working relationships with their team members and client staff.
·  We are looking for an individual with experience within the facilities management discipline; experience in supporting a diverse team is key. Industry Qualifications Required (dependant on operational requirements

·  NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
·  NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent (IEMA etc)
·  Qualification/experience in Quality Management (ie; Internal auditor training etc) General Experience:

·  Significant years experience in Health & Safety preferably within an Engineering, Construction or FM Industry For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
