Job description

Workplace Solutions are recruiting for a Security Officer to be based in EDF Energy, Endeavour House, 2 Victory way, Doxford International Business Park, Sunderland, SR3 3XL. This is a permanent, full time role working 42 hours per week, 12 hours on 12 hours off, 4 days on 4 days off. On offer is a competitive salary of £17,100.12 per annum.

General Overview:

You will be responsible for delivering a first class effective, professional security service alongside a team of other Security Officers.

OBJECTIVES:

·  You will effectively manage the on-site duties in order to deliver seamless service delivery to our client.
·  You will be seen as a professional and the ‘on site’ Ambassador of Workplace Solutions.
·  You will provide a flexible service to our client that accommodates any local, reasonable request. You will effectively be part of the on-site team by:

·  Carrying out regular checks to ensure client employee and contractor safety, security and welfare. You will address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
·  Ensuring that you have the required knowledge, skills, equipment to perform your duties. You will take part in performance development reviews, to identify and assist with your own development and performance.
·  Be available when not on shift as you may be asked to cover shifts for sickness/absence within the team.
·  Providing accurate completion/submission of company documentation as required, ensuring systems and files are fully maintained in line with Data Protection or Office of Nuclear Regulation requirements, and any customer / WPS Workplace auditing requirements.
·  Communicating regularly to key stakeholders, ensuring that any messages are relayed accurately, consistently and quickly.
·  Ensuring consistently high levels of uniform presentation
·  Managing your own attendance, absence and holidays in line with leave allocation and the cover required within the team, as required to comply with Workplace Solutions processes.
·  Assist and train any new team members, including completion of Day 1 and Health & Safety inductions.
·  Induct and monitor sub-contractors attending site outside of core office hours, setting to work and completing all relevant H&S/site documentation, if and when required depending on the type of work being undertaken. You will be seen as a professional and the onsite face of Workplace Solutions by:

Ensuring that you deliver a professional guarding service: against unauthorised access or occupation; against outbreaks of disorder or against damage; against destruction or damage; against being stolen or against being otherwise dishonestly taken or obtained, against assault or against injuries that might be suffered in consequence of the unlawful conduct of others; checking required ID; controlling and registering vehicle / pedestrian movements in accordance with site assignment instructions; escorting and monitoring contractors or visitors to the site; in line with assignment instructions, maintain a check on the perimeter and external areas of the site checking for intrusion, fire or flood; in line with assignment instructions, conduct regular, highly visible patrols of the site on the perimeter boundary and lockups when necessary.

Other Key Responsibilities:

·  Ensuring a correct response and reporting of any incidents or occurrences.
·  Liaising with our client if and when required to ensure service levels consistently meet customer expectations, and to support customer retention.
·  Developing strong professional relationships with customers, sub contractors and WPS customer service teams.
·  Provide excellent customer service and promote our company values, Zero Harm and sustainability.
·  Promoting Health and Safety of yourself and others on the site.
·  Keeping up to date with security guidelines.

·  Experience in a customer facing role is desirable.
·  Good level of computer literacy.
·  Experience in report writing using computer software packages is desirable.
·  Understanding of good Health and Safety practices in the workplace.
·  A valid SIA Security Guarding Licence is mandatory along with previous experience in Security Guarding. For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
