ENGIE are recruiting for a Security Officer to be based in North Manchester General Hospital, Delaunays Road, Crumpsall, Manchester M8 5RB. This is a permanent, full-time role working 56 hours per week (including evenings, nights and weekends).  Shift basis will be:   4 on/ 2 off/ days and nights. On offer is a competitive salary.

Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Security Officer is responsible for providing a high quality, effective Security Service, tailored to meet the needs of individuals who use or work at the Hospital, in accordance with the agreed Security FM specification.

Specific Responsibilities/Duties Include:

· 
Security and protection of all Trust staff, visitors and patients

· 
Carry out appropriate locking and unlocking procedures on buildings, checking all buildings out of hours to ensure they are fully secured

· 
Regularly patrol the Hospital site as a deterrent against theft or vandalism

· 
Provide security patient/staff and visitor escorts upon request

· 
Respond to any requests for assistance with violent/aggressive situations

· 
Respond to any burglar alarm activation on site, instigating Police response and Alarm Engineer to off-site burglar alarms

· 
Respond to all Fire alarm activation

· 
Retrieval and disposal of used needles

· 
Management of Lost and Found Property

· 
Manned guarding of AE on nights

· 
Carry out surveillance and monitoring of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)

· 
Instigate call-out procedure in the event of a Major Incident

· 
Report all crimes and liaise with Police investigations into any criminal offence committed within Hospital grounds and off-site clinics and premises

· 
Issue Identification badges in accordance with Trust policy

· 
Liaise with any member of staff or public who is having difficulty negotiating the Car Park barriers, ticketing, etc.       

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

·  Successfully complete the Physical Intervention training and annual 2 day update training - this is mandatory and a required standard is expected in order to continue employment within this role .
·  A full, valid SIA licence
·  A full, valid CCTV licence
·  Competent in use of CCTV systems
·  Competent in use of door access systems
·  Familiar with response procedure for Alarm monitoring systems
·  Competence in use of two-way radio system
·  Good verbal and written communication skills, competent in using telephone
·  Computer literate
·  Good knowledge of the Hospital environment
·  Competent in re-programming of alarms, including fire alarm panel
·  Respond to fire alarm activation
·  Carry out physical and clinical restraints where necessary, to protect others
·  Able to deal with emotional/distressing situations
·  Able to work externally in all weather conditions
