ENGIE are recruiting for a Road Safety Auditor to be based in New Oxford House, 2 George Street, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN31 1HB.

This is a permanent, full time role working 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and on offer will be a competitive salary and benefits package dependant on skills and experience.  This role will report into the Principal Transport Officer.

The postholder will be responsible for undertaking all road safety audits (RSAs) undertaken by ENGIE as part of its contractual arrangements with NELC and also for undertaking any other RSAs requested and approved for any external organisations.

The postholder will ensure that all RSAs are undertaken in accordance with current standards, that audit findings are fully recorded and that the audit results are circulated accordingly to key stakeholders

The main duties and responsibilities are:

·  Ensure that all RSAs are undertaken in accordance with national standards (currently HD 19/15 Part 2)
·  Develop a forward programme of RSAs, to include all the required stages of RSAs and that meets the deadlines required by the various clients/stakeholders
·  All audit findings are fully recorded and that the audit results are circulated accordingly to key stakeholders
·  Liaise with other ENGIE Highways & Transport managers when additional auditors are required to support a RSA
·  Liaise with clients, other local authorities and key stakeholders
·  Undertake additional tasks related to road safety, as and when workload permits.
·  Manage the forward programme efficiently and effectively to ensure that working time is maximised.
·  In conjunction the Principal Transport Officer, provide quotations for undertaking RSAs for external organisations

Qualifications and experience required:

Essential

·  A good amount of experience in road safety engineering (or a related field) and/or road safety design work
·  Have knowledge of the format of a road safety audit
·  Be able to demonstrate the benefits from undertaking a road safety audit
·  Knowledge of urban and rural road safety issues and solutions
·  Minimum Grade C in English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent) 
·  Competency in the MS Office software suite
·  High standard in written English and report writing
·  Excellent communication and time management skills
·  Mentoring of staff
·  Ability to produce clear and precise reports setting out the findings of road safety audits
·  Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
·  Manage and prioritise conflicting work demands to ensure effective delivery of service priorities
·  Full valid driving licence and ability to access sites as required 

Desirable

·  Experience in undertaking road safety audits in accordance with current standards 
·  Successfully completed the ROSPA 10 day Accident Investigation and Prevention  course
·  HNC (or equivalent) in a suitably related subject
·  Knowledge of the Traffic Signs Manual and Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016
·  Previous experience in highway design and detailed knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and current design best practice including Manual for Streets
·  Holder of Certificate of Competence in Road Safety Audit
·  Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM)
