Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Rapid Responder to be based at Pendle Vale, Oxford Road, Nelson,BB9 8LF. This is a permanent part time role working 30 hours per week, Hours of work will be between 8.00 am - 2.00 pm (To be confirmed at Interview stage). On offer is a salary of £12,526. per hour.

General Overview:

The role of the Rapid Responder is to carry out reactive and scheduled cleaning tasks, Litter picking and basic Maintenance to a high standard. Demonstrate an observable commitment to behavioral safety and embracing a Zero Tolerance incident and injury free culture. Reporting to the Caretaker.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

·  Respond in a timely manner to any issues with the delivery of routine and non-routine cleaning services internal and external. Provide cover and undertake remedial cleaning tasks as necessary.
·  Ensure cleaning materials and power cleaning equipment is operated in a safe and economic manner, and in accordance with their instructions for use. 
·  Ensure that cleaning equipment and designated storage areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
·  Ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials and other consumable items are available.
·  Report to the Caretaker any damage to school property, or potential hazards, or any issues that are likely to affect the task to be undertaken, undertake small repairs. 
·  Act as Key holder. Ensure the security of the allocated areas on completion of the cleaning tasks, including switching off lights and heating to conserve energy.
·  Carry out routine and none routine specified tasks to prescribed standards as instructed by authorized persons.
·  Use cleaning materials and operate power cleaning equipment in a safe and economic manner and in accordance with their safe instructions for use.
·  Observe all safety instructions and wear the correct protective clothing for the task to undertaken.
·  Undertake training as necessary to maintain the requirements of the service.
·  Undertake porterage tasks to support school and community activities.
·  Respond in a safe manner to the effects of adverse weather conditions
·  Collaborate and co-operate with work colleagues, school representatives and users of the school’s facilities to deliver a customer focused service. Contribute to the goals and aims of the school.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
Experience:

·  Experience of industry/Public cleaning services.                                     

Skills/Ability/Knowledge:

·  Able to read and follow instructions on the use of cleaning materials and equipment
·  Have an understanding of basic health and Safety principles
·  Able to attain a consistent specified standard of cleaning
·  Able to organize his/her own time to meet individual work schedules (Patches)
·  Able to operate power operated cleaning equipment
Education/Qualification:

·  BICSc Cleaning Operatives Proficiency Certificate - Desireable
Personal Qualities:

·  Be sufficiently fit to be able to undertake the specified tasks                      
·  Capable of working with minimum supervision                                          
·  Work as a team player and pass on knowledge to others
·  Flexible and willing    This role requires an enhanced disclosure
