ENGIE are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to be based in Belshill, ML4 3NJ. This is a permanent full-time role working 39 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package. 

This role is a Quantity Surveying position within the Development Department. The Development Department’s main commercial roles include all Bid/Pre-Construction Commercial & Contractual Risk Management, Project Value Engineering and Subcontract Procurement for Critical Path work packages.

 

You will need to take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the pre-construction (and early construction) stage of a project in order to administer and maximise the company’s profitability, protect the companies legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all associated commercial issues.

 

Although this role will, in part, relate to traditional tendered projects a large focus for this position will relate to Land-led Development which will increasingly become a greater stream of income to the Scottish Region over the coming years. This will include producing and maintaining project-specific cost appraisals. The role will also include ensuring any applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms and also ensuring sub-contractors/design teams receive prompt payment and are procured in line with our contractual obligations and Commitments to Subcontractors.  In addition, ensuring cost reports and the like are managed, completed on time and monitored.  To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy and Ethics guidelines.

 

Furthermore, there will be a wider obligation to improve commercial best practice in order to produce transparent, data-driven feedback which will result in better efficiencies, loss-making mitigation, improved supply chains and increased profitability.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience: 

·  Excellent verbal communication skills
·  Excellent level of numeracy
·  Excellent influencing skills
·  Report writing
·  IT skills – MS Office, Excel, Project, Word etc
·  Collaborative working in particular with Design Teams/Client’s QS.
·  Industry experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor
·  Industry experience in New Build projects
·  Experience in Traditional and Design and Build projects
·  Post graduate experience within a surveying position reporting to either a senior surveyor or a commercial manager
