Global Energy Management (GEM) is one of ENGIE’s Business Units. We deliver services in supply and logistics management, asset management, risk management, market access management, while contributing to the market understanding, design and efficiency and developing market solutions to accelerate the energy transition.

Organization:

The Quantitative Research and Modelling Expertise Center (QRM EC) is responsible for providing advanced quantitative expertise, models and tools to all Business Platform (BP) in GEM, in fields ranging from mathematical finance, optimization, data science and statistics.

The QRM team supports the trading and portfolio management activities of the GEM BPs. In particular, we support the Power Trading Business Platform with mathematical models and studies to compute the value of complex products traded on the power markets and to assess the risks of these products.

Role:

As Quantitative analyst assistant on Power Markets you will play a versatile role within the Power & Emissions Quant Team.

The missions of a quantitative analyst assistant will be to work together with a quantitative analyst on different studies and developments linked to the pricing and greeks computation of complex products on the power markets.

The position is based in Brussels.

Main Activities:

The main activity of the Quantitative analyst assistant on Power Markets will be the development of pricing models on swing contracts, virtual pump storages and Asian options in the official pricing library of GEM.

Education and professional background:

·  BAC +5/Degree in Engineering, Physics, Finance or Statistics

Hard skills:

·  skills in Financial mathematics and statistics,
·  good understanding of the energy business and the power markets,
·  good software programming skills (C#),

Soft skills:

·  Ability to explain and convey messages about complex issues,
·  Practical thinking, autonomous, able to take initiatives

Languages:

·  Fluent in english
