Engie are recruiting for a Porter to be based in Pinderfields Hospital Aberford Road Wakefield WF1 4DG. This is a fixed term part time role working 37.5 hours per week (are 6-14 and 14-22 5/7 alternate weeks). On offer is a salary of £15,814 per annum.
The role holder will report to the Facilities Supervisor and will provide an effective, responsive materials management service of a routine and non-routine nature throughout the hospital, ensuring a high quality image and standards established within the department are maintained.
• To undertake the receipt of goods within the Goods Yard, ensuring the appropriate process and procedures are adhered to, using the trust Cedar system for booking goods in • To utilise a Fork Lift in their daily duties (authorised drivers only). • To operate motorised Tugs in carrying out their daily duties. • Collect dirty laundry and waste from designated areas in basement and will transport to Service Yard for uplift. • Responsible for reporting incidents requiring pest control and supporting and assisting the cleaning and maintenance tasks involved with pest control. • Responsible for the delivery/collection of goods to wards and departments as scheduled and directed. • To identify any discrepancies with deliveries and to highlight these to the Stores Supervisor. • Responsible, under the direction of the Stores Supervisor, for the return of goods to the supplier where appropriate. • Responsible for, on occasion, the taking down and re-hanging of curtains. • Duties will include the use of industrial cleaning equipment. • Responsible for wall washing as part of barrier cleaning. • To raise stock provisions, handle stock picking and pick checks and handle stock returns. • Responsible for the handling out of hours and out of schedule stock requests. • Responsible for handling stock returns and stock relocation. • Support and participate in stock checks. • To comply with Health and Safety guidelines. • To have an understanding of the operation of the department to assist in its smooth running and enable them to prioritise workload. • To ensure the Central Stores and Goods Yard are locked up at the end of the day. Training • To undertake mandatory training as appropriate to the job.
