Painter - Sizewell B Power Station

Job description

Workplace Solutions are recruiting for a Painter to be based in Sizewell B Power Station, Nr Leiston, Suffolk IP16 4UR. This is a permanent, full time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 and Friday 08:00 - 14:00. On offer is a competitive salary of £23 - 26,360.87 per annum depending on skills and experiene.

General Overview:

Removal of old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing or use of abrasive wheels (grinders) & bristle blasters. Application of paint, stain, varnish, enamel, specialist coatings and other finishes to equipment, buildings, floors and/or other plant based equipment using brushes, rollers, sprayers .etc

Technical Competences :

·  Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the painting trade
·  Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment
·  Knowledge of preparation techniques and use of painting materials and tools
·  Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans & follow both verbal and written work instructions Use and maintenance of the tools of the painting trade safely and skilfully.
·  Ability to erect and work from ladders and scaffolds safely.
·  Ability to safely work at height, and in environments that may have contain dust or fumes

 Minimum Industry qualifications required:

·  ICATS 5 day course as a minimum.
·  NVQ level 2 qualification in a painting discipline (or equivalent)
·  i.e. City and Guilds/ Cskills L2 Decorative finishing and industrial painting
·  Abrasive wheel training 
·  Bristle Blaster Awareness Course

The following will be required for specific “red line” work;

·  Safety harness training (SWXX29 SZB)
·  Working in confined spaces (WICS GEN)
·  Foreign materials exclusion (SWXB45 SZB)
·  RPE fit training (highlighted on the respirator qualitative face fit test employee record) For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
