Job description
Workplace Solutions are recruiting for a Painter to be based in Heysham 2 Power Station, LA3 2XN. This is a permanent, full time role working 38.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary.
General Overview:
To carry out preparation and painting tasks (water and oil based paints) both internally and externally on site via the use of brushes, rollers, etc.
Technical Competences:
· Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the painting trade Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment
· Knowledge of preparation techniques and use of painting materials and tools
· Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans & follow both verbal and written work instructions Use and maintenance of the tools of the painting trade safely and skillfully
· Ability to erect and work from ladders and scaffolds safely
· Ability to safely work at height, and in environments that may have contain dust or fumes

· EDF Energy - Foreign Materials Exclusion Monitor / Guardian(Mandatory) There is also an expectation to undertake further training as requested in line with the clients and Workplace Solutions operational requirements

· Work with appropriate line supervisors to ensure that tasks are planned and delivered to client specification and agreed service requirements.
· Plan and prioritise work
· Shows clear understanding of role objectives and responsibilities.
· Work schedules and projects are prioritised appropriately and delivered on time.
· An ability to work under pressure taking ownership of all delegated tasks ensuring that all work is of a high standard.
· Operational Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H/S and Environmental regulations
· Provide out of hours cover where required
· Complete relevant paperwork
· Compliant with all safety related policies and procedures
· Identification and reporting of areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)
· Appropriate risk assessments undertaken on all work
· Rectifies problems where appropriate (ensuring that the correct procedures are followed)
· All paperwork completed (permits, reports and work order cards) is accurate and submitted within set time scales.
Teamwork
· Establish good working relationships with other team members, provide guidance to others (e.g. apprentices)
· Willingly contribute to the overall team and company objectives, responding quickly to new directives Contributes to prejob briefs, exchanging ideas and putting forward suggestions to improve team performance.
