Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Mobile Gas Engineer to be based in Mitre House  Church street  Lancaster LA1 1JW. This is a permanent full time role working 41.25 hours per week. 
On offer is a salary banding of £30,000-£32,000, dependent upon skills and experience  and benefits package.

A 5 over 7 flexible work pattern will be worked the majority of the time this will be Monday to Friday 8 am onsite until 17:00, however if works are required to be completed out of business hours this will be completed and the time will be taken back as flexible time off.


General Overview:

The role of the Mobile Gas engineer is to undertake heating/combustion maintenance repair works and basic electrical and building fabric works, issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.

All applicants must be able to be vetted before appointment. This is part of the recruitment process.

To be successful in this role you must provide the following:

·  Minimum of 3 year history of employment (including information which can be verified for any gaps)
·  If you do not have 3 years previous employment, a professional reference must be provided (obtained from a Medical Practitioner, Officer of the Armed Forces, Teacher, Lecturer, Lawyer, Bank Manager, Civil Servant etc)
·  Proof of identity & eligibility to work in the UK which must include Photographic I.D - Passport or Driving License. 
·   - Passport and all relevant work permits
·   - NI Number information / proof and FULL Birth certificate (not the short version)
·  If no legal photographic documentation is owned then a passport photo which has been signed and verified by any of the above professionals will be required. This needs to show their title, signature and contact details.
·  3 proofs of address from within the last 3 months (i.e. Driving License, council tax bill, bank statement, utilities bills).
·  Any required qualifications or driving licence if required for the role.
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

·  To actively undertake heating/combustion maintenance proactive maintenance works and basic electrical and building fabric works, (reactive works not yet identified by a client) identified on site.
·  To undertake heating/combustion PPM works, and basic electrical and building fabric works, issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met..
·  To undertake new installations and major and minor repair works to clients heating systems
·  Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant including basic electrical fault finding.
·  To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out.
·  Work in accordance with Work Instructions, Safe Working Practices and Method Statements ensuring relevant paperwork is completed in an accurate timely manner. 
·  Maintain stock control systems as directed. 
·  Maintain the cleanliness of plant rooms, workshops and storage areas. 
·  Be proactive in reporting faults to equipment, buildings and fittings. 
·  Work safely, ensuring the safety and well being of yourself, colleagues, customers and visitors.
·  Carry out on call duties as part of the branch rota.
·  To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
·  To ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria.
·  To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards.
·  To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer 
·  To be fully aware of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times.
·  To take a pro-active approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary
·  Understanding of contract and Health & Safety requirements/regulations.
·  Attempt to solve issues in the first instance in a manner that will not put the client’s products or people at risk of contamination as a result of our works.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Essential : 

·  Recognised Mechanical / Electrical Trade Apprenticeship
·  ACS Commercial and Domestic inclusive of TCPC1 and 1A (Commercial Gas qualifications CIGA1, COCN1, ICAE1, ICPN1, TPCP1A)
·  A basic electrical qualification eg 17th edition IEE
·  A full driving licence 
·  Significant previous experience in a similar mobile service environment
·  Must be flexible in their approach to work
