Job description

A fabulous opportunity has arisen for a Middleweight Graphic Designer to join the Business Development Team inside ENGIE, a leading UK Facilities and Energy Management provider. Working inside a friendly team who operate in a busy corporate sales environment, you will be reporting into The Creative Design Manager/Head of Proposals and assisting two other Graphic Designers.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 09:00- 17:00, but some flexibility on working hours will be required occasionally. The role is based in the ENGIE Head Office Canary wharf London E14 5LQ. On offer will be a competitive salary and benefits package.

This team produces and submits complex bids and tenders for large businesses across the UK. Based in our London office, you will be responsible for assisting our Creative Design Team in creating work-winning documents, artwork and graphics across a wide range of ENGIE bids and sales support materials. A good eye for detail and good layout skills are essential, and a good appreciation of creative design and infographics is very desirable.

In addition, the Graphic Designer will on occasion be asked to complete general business activities and support market related trade shows or exhibitions. This could range from organizing the creative team’s resource library, designing exhibition stands and collateral to supporting the design of SharePoint sites with the Internal Communications team.

All candidates will need to be well-organised self-starters who have a ‘can-do’ attitude and are able to work to tight deadlines. The successful candidate may be asked to work outside of standard office hours on occasions. This role would particularly suit someone who has some experience already in Graphic Design and is looking to advance their experience in both design and is interested in the business activities of ENGIE UK.

The main purpose of the role is :

·  To assist the ENGIE Bid & Proposals Team produce high quality and work-winning documents and collateral from the draft stage through to and including the production stage
·  To look after and maintain our library of creative collateral, archiving, spotting gaps and suggesting improvements where applicable, particularly supporting the Design area of the BD Platform.
·  To maintain compliance with company brand guidelines and a professional client-facing presentational style, whilst driving improvements to the ‘look and feel’ of corporate materials
·  To support the Creative Design Team in all aspects of design and marketing communication activities, and to occasionally take on other tasks to assist team members when appropriate

The role requires a person who has the following:

·  A Professional qualification in Graphic Design or equivalent experience in a design related job
·  Degree educated in a design related subject
·  Strong, written and spoken English language skills
·  A good portfolio of relevant work
·  Excellent appreciation of layout, working to brand guidelines and typography
·  Open to new ideas and ways of working
·  Is a Self-starter able to work independently or as a team?
·  Excellent attention to detail
·  Good organisational and interpersonal skills
·  Ability to work on multiple projects and tight deadlines
·  Previous experience of laying out complex or lengthy text and graphics for client-facing documentation
·  Happy to learn about our business and get stuck in to the daily tasks of our production team where necessary
Essential
·  Expert user of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat
·  Professional user of Microsoft PowerPoint
·  Strong digital experience in interactive pdfs, and user layouts for Web or iPad
·  Able to advise when consulted on design or layout best practice
·  Confident discussing creative solutions in kick-off meetings or graphics workshops
·  A strong portfolio of relevant work, including where possible infographics and corporate layout examples
·  Good working knowledge of InDesign documents and ability to layout a wide range of printed materials including large tender submissions, presentations, folders, brochures, diagrams, infographics and case studies
·  A sense of personal pride in improving and re-designing diagrams and documents from members of the bid team
·  Ability to produce clear and well-designed presentations, be responsible for distribution and printing of these
·  To assist/support other members of the Business Development teams in work-winning initiatives and bid production duties as and when required
·  To maintain the ENGIE library of historically produced templates and artwork
·  To research the latest design practices and techniques and assess their applicability and feasibility for ENGIE’s use
·  Knowledge of printing process
Desirable
·  Previous experience of bidding or tendering
·  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word
·  Ability to make a simple website, some knowledge of coding or web standards
·  Photography experience
