What You Can Expect
As the Health and Safety Intern, you will provide support to the Site Safety Specialist on the campus of University of Iowa. The company is responsible for the infrastructure that supplies the university and hospital with steam, power, water and chilled water. Additionally, will assist in all aspects of the ENGIE Health & Safety Program, including incident investigation, monthly indicator reporting, review and disposition of safety Good Catch reports, hazard identification, leadership safety walks, employee training, and capital improvement project risk assessment and consultation.
· Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment, seize opportunities to learn by participating in or shadowing activities, and facilitate at least one safety improvement project aimed at closing the risk gap or cultivating a positive safety culture
· Implement action items from leadership safety walks and work independently when possible, to contribute to ongoing safety enhancements
What You’ll Bring
· Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, occupational & environmental health, or a related field
· A proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Additional Details
· This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
· Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
· Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Hourly Range: $21.00 – $27.00 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
