The Role: Insurance & Risk Analyst II

The Insurance and Risk Analyst is responsible for risk identification & analysis of exposures; assisting in procurement of insurance policies and/or contractual risk transfer; insurance accounting/financial reporting; insurance data management and reporting; and claims management. The individual oversees management of North American surety bond portfolio; Assists in preparation of annual group risk mandates and ensures delivery of requirements and monitors compliance of group risk mandates not within GEM US scope including (i) assisting in risk committee administration and reporting; (ii) approving and managing risk policy, risk mandates risk limits, and hedge plans; (iii) preparing annual enterprise risk management assessment; and (iv) oversee any necessary Dodd Frank tracking and reporting, as well as assist in preparation of business disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Essential Job Functions

·  Identify and treat exposures that affect the North American Business Unit’s physical assets and financial statements by reviewing contracts
·   Assist in creating the insurance due diligence for potential acquisitions, as well as assist in integration of all insurance programs inherited via acquisition into the ENGIE master local insurance program.
·  Play a key role in Business Development activities, including working with brokers to provide budget for construction, operation and placement of insurance.
·  Responsible for identifying potential insurance providers to select and present the corporate business risk profile to underwriters for competitive bid consideration.
·  Review insurance market quotations for coverage in order to recommend the most comprehensive and cost effective insurance structure for the company.
·  Maintain insurance finance records, including tracking invoices, cash flow, fee and premium spend annually.
·  Maintain insurance policy files and delivery of insurance certificates reflecting endorsements and validating that policies are issued in compliance with coverage required and requested.
·  Enter open claims and policy premiums into Asterix/ Stars database on a monthly basis.
·  Oversee management of North American surety bond portfolio; providing requested information to sureties and ensuring bonds are received, extended and/or renewed on a timely basis and oversees billings.
·  Work with various internal stakeholders to ensure timely and equitable resolution of claims in the event of an accident, injury or contract dispute.
·  Prepare and distribute materials for the Insurance Review and Risk Committees as needed.
·  Assist in preparation and delivery of insurance and risk manuals and training programs for key stake holders, as needed.
·  Assists in preparation of annual group risk mandates and ensures delivery of requirements and monitors compliance of group risk mandates not within GEM US scope including (i) assisting in risk committee administration and reporting; (ii) approving and managing risk policy, risk mandates risk limits, and hedge plans; and (iii) oversee any necessary Dodd Frank tracking and reporting.
·  Play key role in annual Enterprise Risk Management exercise by meeting with key stakeholders, managing reporting of risks in Risk Register, addressing risks, and preparation of ERM reporting
·  Assist in the analysis of and drafting of comprehensive North American Business Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery Plans, as needed.
·  Acts as a team member within the Treasury, Finance, Insurance and Credit team carrying out other duties as assigned
·  Complies with all ENGIE policies and procedures
·  Carries out other duties as assigned

Requirements

·  Knowledge of insurance markets, contractual risk transfer and risk management principles.
• Experience in Enterprise Risk Management principles, process and implementation.
• Prior participation in developing and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Prior experience with an insurance database tools.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of time.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
• Could involve some lifting.

Education/Experience

·  Bachelor’s degree required with preference for business administration.
·  3-5 year’s of relevant experience in insurance and risk.
·  Progress toward professional certification of Certified Risk Manager and/or other accreditations highly preferred.
