ENGIE are recruiting for a General Assistant to be based at Easter Park, Worcester Road, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, DY11 7AR. This is a permanent part time role working 19 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £7,594.94 per annum.
Working hours will be: ( Workings Hours may be flexible)
Monday - Thursday 10 am - 2 pm
Friday 10 am - 1 pm.
General Overview:
The role of the General Assistant is to carry out a broad spectrum of repairs and other general duties both internally and externally.Having a broad range of craftsmanship and practical skills as well as being proactive will prove useful when carrying out repairs or general maintenance on buildings.There are always little jobs that require to be taken care of, most of which are not a major issue, however, if left unresolved these minor issues can develop into major problems. Staying on top of the small jobs enables a safer work environment and helps in preventing a major job in the future,reporting directly to the Site Manager
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals
However the range of duties expected to be included are:
· Minor plumbing and carpentry
· Relocation of furniture or equipment
· Clearing or cleaning general areas
· Clean between the desk rows on a daily basis and assist with other general cleaning as directed
· Painting at safe levels for the purpose of tidy/touch up
· Small joinery jobs to include but not limited to putting up pictures/shelves etc
· Maintaining the outside of the building to include sweeping, weeding, etc
· Carry out general repairs
· To carry out ad hoc duties as necessary or as requested by the Site Manager.
· To work to an agreed work specification and time allocation
· To ensure that all specified areas as stated on the work schedule are cleaned and maintained to the standard required
· All daily, weekly and periodic tasks are carried out as required;
· Provide cover for cleaning duties during periods of annual leave.
· To have a working knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials and agents;
· To be cost conscious and aware of expenditure and avoid unnecessary waste;
· To deal with any complaints immediately and report to the Site Manager

Qualifications or Required Experience:
· Must be able to demonstrate experience and good practical 'DIY' skills/general maintenance
· Physically fit as lifting may be involved (ability to lift up to 25 kg)
· Good interpersonal skills
· Full valid driving licence
· An understanding of Health & Safety
· Courses in health and safety, plumbing, plastering, carpentry, and general maintenance would be beneficial
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and follow direction
· Ability to follow and comply with instructions as directed for use of equipment and/or materials.
· Ability to work in a pro-active manner to identify and highlight to management any maintenance issues within the MOU. For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
