Job description
ENGIE are recruiting for a part-time Cleaner to be based in Avon & Somerset Police, Patchway Custody Centre, 90 Gloucester Road, Patchway, Bristol BS34 6PY. This is a permanent, part-time role working 12 hours per week. Hours of work are 18:00 to 00:00, Thursdays and Fridays.
Reporting directly to the Mobile Cleaning Supervisor/Soft Services Manager, the Cleaner is responsible for providing and maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment for staff, users and visitors to Avon & Somerset Police PFI Buildings.
On offer is a salary of £7.50 per hour.
Main Responsibilities/Duties:
· Clean and maintain all areas to standards required to meet the Authority requirements
· Carry out all allocated cleaning activities to the specification, completely, safely and within the required timescales
· Use cleaning materials and consumables as recommended by ENGIE’s supplier, following supplier’s recommended use instructions
· Perform specialist cleaning tasks including (but not exclusively): scrubber/ dryer operation, spot carpet cleaning, high level cleaning, deep cleaning of cells, toilets and kitchens etc
· Cleaning of the custodial unit, which involves entry into Cells, Interview rooms, Medical rooms and other Police Authority areas
· Emptying of recycling & confidential waste containers
· Replenishment of kitchen & washroom consumables
· Attend to any spillages as quickly as possible so as to eliminate any Health and Safety issues on site
· Report any ad hoc requests for cleaning to the Help Desk
· To work within the requirements of ENGIE’s Health & Safety policy; having specific regard to colour-coding, COSHH, Risk Assessments and safe working practices
· Maintain assigned cleaning cupboard to ENGIE standards and requirements
· Complete a Shift Handover at the end of every shift or before leaving site
· Attend regular meetings with the Cleaning Supervisor.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
· Flexibility: able to work additional and sometimes unsocial hours, if and when required
· PFI contract knowledge is preferable
· BICs trained
· Experience of working within a Facilities Management environment
· A good level of English communication skills
· Reliable, hardworking, with a professional attitude
· Able to prioritise workloads
· Able to work on own initiative
· Good team skills, as well as ability to work alone when necessary
· Able to manage own workload and own working hours
