Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Catering Assistant to be based in Loughborough University, Here East Broadcast Centre, Olympic Park, Stratford, London, E15 2GZ.

 

This is a permanent part time role (working 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 13:00 – 18:00) and on offer will be a salary of £9.75 per hour.  This role will report into the Retail and Events Catering Manager.

 

To be successful in this role you must provide the following:

·  Minimum of 3 year history of employment (including information which can be verified for any gaps)
·  If you do not have 3 years previous employment, a professional reference must be provided (obtained from a Medical Practitioner, Officer of the Armed Forces, Teacher, Lecturer, Lawyer, Bank Manager, Civil Servant etc)
·  Proof of identity & eligibility to work in the UK which must include :
·  Photographic I.D - Passport or Driving Licence.
·  Passport and all relevant work permits
·  or NI Number information / proof and full Birth certificate
·  If no legal photographic documentation is owned then a passport photo which has been signed and verified by any of the above professionals will be required. This needs to show their title, signature and contact details.
·  2 proofs of address from within the last 3 months (i.e. council tax bill, bank statement, utilities bills).
·  Any required qualifications or driving licence if required for the role.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

·  To correctly set up all areas ready for trade prior to opening, including ensuring food and beverage items stocked up / ready to serve, and both restaurant and counter areas are clean and well presented, and you are ready to welcome guests. 
·  To properly and completely close down all areas after closing, including till closure, food and beverage items properly secured/disposed of/stocked up, restaurant and bar areas cleaned, equipment shut down, and waste removed according to procedure.
·  Maintaining the cleanliness of the deli bar and kitchen area as required throughout the day, including inside, outside and roof terrace areas.
·  Re-stocking the sandwiches, cakes and chilled drinks as and when required
·  Correctly prepare hot drinks for customers on request including using barista style coffee machine.
·  Correctly prepare cold soft and alcoholic drinks on request.
·  To provide the safe and efficient transportation of food from the kitchen to customers.  Check all food leaves the kitchen to spec and arrives with the customers in a timely and well presented manner.
·  To communicate with the supervisors and kitchen team with regards to food levels available.  To always be aware of the products on the specials board and inform customers of any out of stock items or delays.
·  To operate the Agylisis till system, taking payments via cash or cards from customers.  To follow the correct procedure for any voids or refunds required. 
·  Keep all BOH storage areas are clean and tidy, and in keeping with health and safety regulations, with all f&b stock stored according to FIFO.  To assist with the receipt and storage of deliveries in keeping with the above.
·  To always interact with all customers in a friendly and polite way.
·  To listen to any customer feedback including complaints in a polite and friendly manner, immediately bringing all feedback to the attention of a manager or supervisor. 
·  To ensure all furniture is correctly and carefully handled at all times, and if applicable correctly put together and taken apart.  To ensure this is always safely and carefully moved and stored.  Report any damage to a manager or supervisor immediately.
·  To adhere to the dress code and grooming standards
·  To act as an ambassador for Cofely and our client (Loughborough University, London) at all times.
·  To ensure that all legislative and Government guidelines are adhered to including The Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH and Fire Regulations
·  To be conversant with all Company Codes of Conduct and Human Resources Policies
