Engie are recruiting for a Catering Assistant to be based in St Pancras Hospital Highgate Mental Health Unit NW 1 0PE / N19 5NX. This is a permanent part time role working 22.5 hours per week (This is a split shift role 12.00 - 14.30 
17.00 - 19.00) at £7.83 per hour. 
The role holder will report to the Catering Supervisor and will provide a safe and timely food service for service users. Assisting in the delivery of a high standard of food service which meets the requirements of food hygiene legislation and Trust/Company Food Safety Policy.

•To work within established catering routines using own initiative as appropriate in the provision of a cook freeze service to service users.
•The hygienic handling of food products in accordance with food hygiene legislation and the Trust/Company Food Safety Policy (HACCP).  
•Observation of statutory and Trust/Company food hygiene regulations.
•Taking and recording of food temperatures and seeking further instruction where these are outside of critical limits. 
•To liaise with service users on their meal requirements, take service user menu choices and enter onto the daily production sheet.
•To assist in the preparation of basic food and simple cooking as required. 
•To set up the dining areas, and service trolleys for food service meal requirements, and clearing down after each service.
•Serving meals in an appetising and attractive manner that complies with the company’s portion control guidance. 
•To be involved in the general cleaning following the appropriate cleaning schedules, use of electrical floor scrubber, vacuuming areas and cleaning of all catering equipment, ward kitchen and dining areas.
•Production of basic conventional service user meals using the cook freeze regeneration method at ward level. 
•Restock the ward site frozen storage cabinet from the central stock holding area.  
•Appropriate disposal and recording of waste in accordance with instruction ensuring that wastage is kept to a minimum. 
•Maintaining food service stock levels to agreed limits and re order / replenish stock from Engie nominated suppliers.
•Control and complete appropriate meal documentation/records.

•The post holder must be willing to undertake mandatory training as appropriate to the job.
•Ensure training and refresher training undertaken in Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, COSHH, HACCP, Fire Safety and Trust/Company policies and procedures. 
•Develop and demonstrate an understanding of any specific dietary requirements to meet patient’s needs.
