Engie are recruiting for a Carpenter to be based in Engie Project Office Queen Elizabeth Hospital Edgbaston Birmingham B15 2WB. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week (4on 4off shift pattern comprising of: 0700-1700 x2, 1100-2100 2100-0700 x2(rolling)). On offer is a salary of £22,28 plus £1,752 (shift allowance) per annum.
The role holder will report to Fabric Manager and will undertake improvement work, maintenance and repairs to the fabric of the building.
•The responsibilities will mainly be at the Acute Hospital, but will also include duties at the Mental Health unit and Retained Estate if the business needs arise.
•To undertake any reasonable duties to maintain all services to the NHS Trust(s) Estate
•To carry out all works in compliance with Engie’s KPI’s & SLA’
•To undertake fabric maintenance using multi skilled techniques in a modern building structure, fabric, finishes, fixtures and fittings e.g. UPVC windows, automatic door closure assemblies, lock smith duties, flooring, suspended ceilings, partitions, minor painting, plastering and assembly of furniture.
•Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision.
•Plan and set up new work appropriate to his/her own trade using relevant tools, complex equipment and machinery, without supervision.
•To carry out unsupervised maintenance and repairs and report any defects or unusual circumstances to the Maintenance Supervisor.
•Requirement to learn new techniques with training as necessary.
•To understand the general working protocols of the healthcare environment so that work can be carried out in the most efficient manner, pro-active in developing new ways of working.
•To understand fully the inter-relationship between various maintenance crafts.
•To be knowledgeable of and to work to the current regulations, codes of practice, Health & Safety regulations and all safety rules both HBML and Statutory.
•To inform the Maintenance Supervisor and liaise with departments of any delays or difficulties encountered in completion of assigned work.

•Produce if necessary list of materials to carry out remedial repairs or
alterations to current task. Report if stock of consumable items or spares are low.

•Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions.
•Record and report detailed information as required to determine statutory compliance and condition of building items such as fire doors, fire barriers and windows.
•To maintain workshops and working environment in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
•Responsible for participating in a ‘recall to work’ procedure for emergency repairs as required when not on call.
•After appropriate training, erect tower scaffolding or if appropriate access work from ladders or step ladders.
•Responsible for the care and securing of tools, equipment and materials – especially in patient areas.
•Responsible for the accurate completion of time sheets on a daily basis.

•Recognised carpentry related City and Guild qualification
•Evidence of experience on complex building maintenance
