Building Maintenance Apprentice – Winsford, Cheshire

Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Building Maintenance Apprentice to be based in Wyvern House, Winsford, CW7 1AU (mobile across region).

 

This is a fixed term (2 years) full time role (working 40 hours per week) and the pay rate will comply with the National Minimum Wage for an Apprenticeship Scheme.  This role will report into the Manager.

 

The main duties and responsibilities are:

·  Maintaining and monitoring premises in relation to accommodation moves, meetings and civic events
·  Provide basic maintenance, porterage and cleaning services to building users
·  Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained
·  Undertake minor maintenance and repair works as required
·  Support planned maintenance schedule, eg emergency lighting and tap temperature tests.
·  Training to be provided
·  Level 2-3 Diploma in Construction (Plumbing/Electrical/Maintenance)
·  Functional skills in Maths, English and ICT level 1 where needed
·  Future Prospects
·  Progression onto further apprenticeship programs to specialise in either gas/electrical
·  Possible permanent, full-time employment on successful completion of apprenticeship.

Skills Required

·  Good working knowledge of health and safety procedures
·  Ability to access sites across the geographical patch (Cheshire West)
·  Basic computer literacy
·  Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
·  Able to work with minimal supervision once trained
·  Willingness to respond to direction and follow procedures as required
·  Good written and communication skills
·  Good time management and organisational skills

Qualifications

·  Good standard of education, In particular, GCSEs grade C or above in Maths and English would be desirable
