Engie are recruiting for a Boiler House Operative to be based in Queen Elizabeth Hospital 21 Mindelsohn Way Vincent Court Edgbaston Birmingham B15 2 WB. This is a permanent full time role working 42 hours per week (3 days on, 3 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off). On offer is a salary of £19,695 plus shift allowance per annum. The role holder will report to the Maintenance Supervisor

General Overview:  
•The successful applicant must be a well organised individual who is self-motivating and flexible in their approach to work as they will form part of a small dynamic team. 
•Must be reliable, polite and discrete as the post holder will be in contact with medical staff, service users and the public.
•Should the need arise the post holder will be expected to cover boiler house shifts duties at short notice to cover for annual leave and sickness.  
•Have good communication skills as they will be in contact with the Help Desk via telephone, two-way radio, and hand-held P.D.As.  
•Will be expected to keep good clear written records of completed Planed Preventative maintenance and Reactive work orders.    
•Take a lead in planning and managing periodic and cyclic maintenance activities related to the boiler plant. This will require close working and liaison between the boiler operator and the estates management team

 Qualifications or Required Experience:  
•Experience of working within a boiler house environment although onsite training will be provided.
•Already accredited or be prepared to work towards obtaining a Boiler Operative Accreditation Scheme Qualification (B.O.A.S
•Able to take a lead in planning and managing periodic and cyclic maintenance activities related to the boiler plant
•Good all-round maintenance knowledge
•Experience of operating steam generating plant and steam distribution systems.
