Engie are recruiting for an Authorising Engineer (Mechanical) to be based ideally somewhere between York and Birmingham as between those two points is where the greatest concentration of sites are. This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £56,000 per annum, company vehicle (business use), bonus and benefits package. The role holder will report to Engineering & Compliance Manager and will be responsible for checking that the standards have been implemented, albeit where no standard is readily available this will need to be developed, assessing the competency of the proposed Authorised Persons, following the approved appointment processes and generally ensuring that the engineering standards for that discipline are being adhered to through audit. General Overview:
• Fulfil the role of Authorising Engineer across a range of mechanical disciplines, primarily pressure systems and ventilation and providing support to the AE water but also including other related areas as the Knowledge, Skills and Experience of the individual will allow e.g. MGPS, POL etc.
• The post holder will have significant expertise in managing complex and high risk engineering systems in a healthcare environment and will use that experience to help drive up standards across the portfolio
• Work within the wider AE team to define, implement, monitor and audit ENGIE and Client (e.g. HTM) Safe Systems of Work as it relates to specified areas of work. By doing so the post holder will be helping to ensure that ENGIE’s operations are compliant across a range of different disciplines and against a range of different legislation or standards even those disciplines where an AE isn’t strictly required.

•Educated to degree level or equivalent through experience
•Member of relevant Institution or where not a member, agree to gain membership within a period not to exceed 12 months from date of employment with ENGIE
•Significant experience of Estates Management in a healthcare environment
•Sound knowledge and understanding of working in the PFI environment
