Job description

Engie are recruiting for an Assistant Premises Manager to be based in Arts & Media School London N4 3LS.This is a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week.  On offer is a salary of £22,500 per annum.The role holder will report to Premises Manager.

The following list is not exhaustive
•Act as a fire marshal/respond to the fire alarms etc. 
•Lamp replacement of lighting fittings on a reactive basis or as directed by the HSM 
•Resetting of circuit breakers on domestic electrical circuits
•Plumbing -fit/repair radiator valves
•Un-block drains using rods or hand-operated jetting equipment
•Re-washer taps in basins
•Repair leaks on WC drain joints
•Fit toilet seats
•Fit shower curtain rails
•Fit door handles
•Fit locks
•Fit/ease and adjust door closers
•Re-hang/ease and adjust doors
•Minor repairs to skirting and floor boards
•Minor repairs to furniture
•Fit shelves
•Fit curtain rails
•Decorating -minor touching up disturbed timbers, ceiling, wall and door finishes
•Any other reasonable requests
Routine daily checks to be undertaken by the handyperson shall include, but not be limited to, the following
•Check all fuel/energy/water meters
•Check engineering plant control panels for failures and report as necessary
•Check and top up salt and chemical levels in water treatment units
Routine weekly checks to be undertaken by the handyperson shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
•Test of the fire alarm detectors, manual call points and fire doors on the Hall's fire alarm system
•Visual inspection of fire extinguishers in all common areas
•Visual inspection of fire doors in all common areas
•Visual inspection of all Health and Safety signage
•Check all doors including fire doors for defects and fully operational.

Administrative tasks to be undertaken by the handyperson shall include, but not be limited to, the following
•Twice weekly inspections of all areas completion of inspection log and requisition forms for defects. 
•Reporting of outstanding tasks and any damage or vandalism to the Helpdesk. 
•Ensuring building logs are updated as new parts and components are installed and when new certificates are issued 
•Maintaining records of stocks of consumables 
•Ensuring that the visits of contractors/sub-contractors are recorded and escorting sub-contractors whilst they are on site 
•Following the Building's procedures regarding access to occupied rooms and reporting any problems with residents, or misuse of Building equipment by residents, staff or other contractors to Building Representative

•Experience in a customer facing role is desirable
•Good reading and writing skills
•Basic numeracy skills
•Basic computer literacy would be desirable or willingness to train as required
•Abide by and promote good Health and Safety practices in the workplace
