ENGIE are recruiting for an Apprentice Electrician to be based in Birmingham, B44 0AY. This is a 4 year fixed term role working 40 hours per week. The training will be on day release, 1 day a week in college, based at Mill Street, B6 4BS and 4 days in role. You will arrive at the College Road depot and go out to jobs with a mentor in the mentors company van.
As part of the recruitment process, successful applicants will be invited to a 2 week ‘interview’ at a training centre which will include completing a Health and Safety Awareness qualification and CSCS test/card prior to final interview.
The purpose of this role is to become a fully trained Electrician to the standard laid down by the C.I.T.B. and Trade Unions and achieve the National Vocational Qualification NVQ3. To Understand, implement and adhere to ENGIE SHEQ requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· To assist and carry out project defined electrical work to a high standard as directed by the Site Manager
· To achieve all units laid down by the C.I.T.B. National Vocational Qualifications to achieve a standard in electrical installation acceptable to the company
· Carry out electrical installation tasks
· To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
· This role does involve lifting, bending, kneeling and use of tools and machinery
· Material co-ordination
· Ensure accurate / timely completion of any relevant site based documentation
· Adhere to Company quality standards to include:
· Compliance with specification / Compliance with materials and workmanship
· To attend all relevant training courses including all SHEQ courses arranged by the employer including Tool Box Talks
· Making repairs and restoring damaged parts
· Maintain and care for all company tools
· Wear appropriate clothing and PPE specific to tasks
· Ensure all areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the working day
