Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for an Application Test Analyst to be based in Leeds. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary.


General Overview:
As part of the programme testing function, perform Systems and Systems Integration Testing.  Ensure appropriate test scenario definition and prioritisation, script preparation, execution and exit prior to entry to business testing.

Key Accountabilities: 

·  Define test scenarios and apply priorities following appropriate principles
·  Liaise with stakeholders to agree test scope
·  Work closely with Solution Architects in order to identify and drive out processes for testing various applications and interfaces
·  Identify methods for sourcing and creating test data 
·  Carry out testing using exploratory and manually scripted approaches 
·  Work closely with the Programme team throughout the development lifecycle to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria for the evolving solution
·  Record all test activity in HPQC
·  Use a variety of testing techniques to provide appropriately high coverage of both functional and non-functional requirements
·  Prevent the creation of defects through pro-active collaboration and communication with team members and suppliers. Where defects do arise, manage these effectively
·  Provide rapid feedback and information to team members to allow appropriate corrections and decisions to be made. For example, through defect raising, re-testing, verbal feedback and test, code and requirement reviews
·  Support the Test Manager with Test Status reporting and defect management, where necessary
·  To deliver testing methodology for a range of key business systems, projects and changes
·  Minimise defects as early as possible in the software lifecycle, so maximising quality of delivered solution
No direct reports; however, there will be significant collaboration across different business areas.

Internal: All UK Retail Departments
External: External Suppliers, Consultants

Knowledge and skills: 

·  Testing methodologies – including interpretation of functional and non-functional requirements and translation into appropriate test plans, scenarios etc.
·  Use of recognised test recording and monitoring tools
·  Software Development methodologies (agile and waterfall)
·  Understanding of ITIL Release and Configuration Management
·  Able to demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving
·  Proven ability to organise and produce work within deadlines
·  Knowledge of the energy industry is beneficial Technical Skills:

·  Squash / Selenium / Jenkins / GitHub
·  Java / TestNG / Maven / Eclipse / Microsoft Visual Studio / Experience of automation windows applications / API testing using Postman / SQL experience with Microsoft SQL / Azure experience For more information about ENGIE please visit:http://www.engie.com/en/candidates-area/

Essential:

·  Appropriate Applications Testing qualification or certification
Desirable:

·  Degree level or equivalent, preferably Information Technology or Computer Science
Experience:

·  Proven ability to organise and produce work within deadlines
