Head of Digital & eCommerce Analytics - To £85,000 + 20% Bonus + Benefits

As the Head of Digital and eCommerce Analytics, you will join a new and exciting leadership team in a new venture and be involved at the start of what is to become a major eCommerce success story.

Based in the Midlands and working for a global organisation setting up a new strategic start in eCommerce, you will be tasked to lead a major part of their initiative and ongoing future strategy. The strategy is to more closely align UK and EMEA online sales with the rest of the world, and this global group are already a serious retailer and eCommerce player!

The Head of Digital and eCommerce Analytics will be responsible for developing insight/s around products and services sold through the digital channels including the development and leveraging of data driven insights to drive digital sales growth. Also this includes the data driven ‘decision making’ to drive strategic, product, operational and marketing decisions to create a world-class multi-channel business.

This role will play a key part in the early phases to establish what data and analytics are available within the UK/EMEA retail business to determine and create future data and insights requirements. Plus it will help create a culture of analytic decision making within the eCommerce and Digital team/s and the retailers wider divisions. Working alongside their executive world class online leaders to help achieve this, you will sit alongside some truly impressive career histories.

The chosen person will be strategic, able to build their Digital and eCommerce Analytics team around them inside 18 months, yet still be very much define, shape and execute this to get the early phases off the ground. You will engage with the various business stakeholders, be happy to work in an environment where ambiguity and questions are inevitable and where small unforeseeable failures along the way are capitalised to allow a robust digital and eCommerce analytics strategy to be created.

Experience required:

- 7+ years of experience in analytics, including management of a team

- Degree educated, preferably in science, maths, statistics with significant mathematical exposure

- Previous carer experience in a successful eCommerce business or Digital operation

- Proven experience with statistics and mathematics and the ability to lead highly analytical teams and projects.

- Strong SQL skills for querying and maintaining databases (MySQL), strong Excel (e.g: look-up functions, pivot-tables, advanced functions/statistics)

- Preferred experience using one or more of analytics tools like R, SAS, SPSS

- Experience with developing/refining customer segmentation models

- Strategic planning and execution, a consulting background is a plus

- Ability to think through complex business problems, solve them by analysing a large amount of data, and then communicate these in simple, straightforward manner to key business stakeholders

- Proven ability to analyse customer needs and define strategies for meeting them

- Past experience with both print and digital marketing techniques (Email, SEM and/or SEO) an advantage
