Job description

We have an internship available for graduates within Elwin Street Productions’ editorial and rights departments.

This combined internship offers the opportunity to gain insight into two exciting and challenging areas of book production. You will have to opportunity to manage projects independently and expand a wide skill set.

On the Editorial side, the internship at Elwin Street Productions involves undertaking a varied and diverse workload on a number of different projects. Duties include conducting initial research on new projects, picture research and writing/ proofreading briefs for synopses and other presentation materials. Experience of Quark and/or Indesign helpful.

On the Rights side, the internship at Elwin Street involves liaison with our major publishing partners around the world (publishers such as Allen & Unwin, Bloomsbury, Milan, Norstedts). Duties include liaison with publishers, preparing and sending out sales material, organising of sales trips and book fairs and assistance with rights negotiations. Languages helpful.

We are looking for candidates who are organised, professional, computer literate (Mac), and able to handle a busy and varied workload.

Internships last for the duration of 4 weeks full-time. Hours are 9.30-5.30pm. The internship is unpaid, but travel expenses for up to £50 per week will be reimbursed.
