Strategic Buyer (electronic components)

Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To create and drive the purchasing strategy on certain commodity areas. To manage the existing supplier base, secure capacities and continuous supplies for mass production. To search for new potential suppliers, drive cost reduction actions and secure the increase of the performance of the supplier base.

Primary office is Budapest, however the successful candidate is required to spend 1-2 days on a weekly basis in our Jászberény Plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Actively manage electronic components sourcing activities, via management of RFQs, key sourcing processes and quotation analysis/negotiation
· Analyse costed BOM's, create should cost calculations
· Promote and encourage cross functional participation from all functional areas in order to maximize total cost reduction & technical optimization whilst maintaining the stringent quality standards required by Electrolux
· Identify opportunities to continuously improve the effectiveness of communication and supplier relationship building activities
· Develop and maintain a strong industrial awareness through investigation of new supply markets and assessing suppliers capability
· Maintain key internal systems for cost tracking

Desired profile

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· College or University degree in Engineering is preferred, however we consider candidates from non-engineering backgrounds with previous work experience in purchasing of electronic components
· 3-5 years working experience in a purchasing environment preferably in mass production
· Experience on the field of purchasing of electronic components
· Proven cost reduction experience using a number of techniques (e.g. benchmarking/negotiation/process
improvement etc.)
· Experience in consumer electronics is an advantage

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

· Business oriented mindset with the ability to handle cca.20m USD material spend with suppliers from various geographical areas. (Europe / Far-East)
· Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
· High level numeric and analytical skills
· MS Office knowledge (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· SAP knowledge is an advantage
· Is a team player with a proactive, flexible attitude
· Is able to work within tight deadlines and to deliver under pressure
· Driver's license, category B
